As an atheist; will this movie just piss me off?

I am an atheist and I am sick of god being brought into everything. I find it happens a lot more in American cinema and TV and it annoys the *beep* outta. Is the idea of god being used as a plot/character devise or does this movie actually take the idea of god seriously? I'd like to know before i sit down to watch it and find I have wasted a couple of hours when I could've watched something intelligent.

Cheers

Well, I, also an atheist, can tell you what I thought. I won't go as far as to guarantee a positive response.

There are absolutely references to God, including thanks, Bible passages, choir singing, etc. However, none of it was preachy to me. Those moments had me slightly laughing and eye rolling rather than wanting to yell STFU.

Ultimately, which I was pleased with, most of the depiction is about perseverance. Watching Bethany -- the real Bethany, not AnnaSophia Robb -- in interviews may get your blood boiling. She lays it on pretty thick.

I don't think you had to state that you're an atheist. Everyone could probably already tell by your username.

I love your response, and I agree with you.

Its amazing how atheists are all pseudo intellectuals.

It's amazing how religious people are all sub-intellectual.

No. Its actually amazing how people in a fallen state use their so called "intellectualism" to deceive others while their own lives are messed up. That's what is amazing.
