The moment when the series really started to kick ass

The first movie was good for what it was which is a street racing movie with simple yet likeable characters built around it. The second and third movies sucked but the fourth film began to turn things around in the right direction by bringing back the characters who were missing from the earlier outings since the events of the first film. Now that the characters are back and everyones a fugitive, *beep* really starts to get fun here. The addition of Tyrese and The Rock was great along with the movie being fast-paced, action packed and hitting all the right notes. I like how this one ends with Dom and Hobbs going from enemies to somewhat friends much like how Dom and Brian began their journey.

You guys should see the movie marathon I did with this film titled When A Cop Befriends A Criminal. You can check it out on my blog.

Agreed. It is the transitional film in the series. I knew it was gonna be very good after the train sequence.

This movie was fun and better than 6th or 7th IMO. But I still like the 1st one the best because of the focus on street racing, tuner culture, and as you said likeable characters. I enjoyed the 2ND one as well as just mindless goofy action. The 3Rd one could have been great with Dom and Brian, or even just Paul Walker replacing that hick as the lead. Aaww, what might have been.

I like Part 6 even more than this. If it wasn't for Justin Lin, the series would have become straight to DVD a long time ago.
