So, no more?

Was it just that first "season"?

reply

No more. I think that ABC was hoping that the 8 episode pilot series would garner enough interest to continue it, but apparently it didn't because it wasn't renewed.

Yknow, I'm watching through the first series of Outrageous Fortune on dvd right now...I think one of the reasons scoundrels may not have survived is being an absolute carbon copy of the original, nothing too outstanding about the show itself, it had all been done.
Personally though having seen it first, I still quite liked it.
This is why I prefer re-imaginings to remakes.

My understanding is that ABC liked the story that "Outrageous Fortune" told, but because of the stricter standards and practices codes by which the networks have to abide, they had to 'clean it up' in order to air it. I think they bought the rights and even hired the producer and writer of the original show to act as consultants.
