Jamie has a lot of nerve

What right does Jamie have to interfere with the custody of a child? Erin was right, Jamie needs to learn boundaries. His job was to deal with the reason 911 was called and not creating more problems.

reply

Jamie isnt a lawyer and able to deal with custody cases.

reply

I agree. Jamie had no right to interfere with the custody of the boy and dump it to Erin. Erin would have every right to go to Frank and tell Jamie to never do this again or his job would be in jeopardy.

reply

Jamie had no right to do that, but he has a really big heart and was trying to help. He saw their pain and couldn't just walk away. On the other hand, maybe he should go back to being a lawyer, most likely a family court/custody attorney.

reply

Jamie knew nothing of the situation, the biological parents could have had their parental rights terminated by the court due to abuse or neglect. All he should had done was remove them from the property and tell them to get a lawyer.

reply

I agree. In my limited knowledge of how child custody goes in adoptions, isn't this something that the adoptive parents and the birth parents should have worked out in the beginning of their custody settlement? I'm not a lawyer, but I think something like this should have been done.

reply

That's the problem..His heart is to big. Which clouds his judgement. Which makes it hard to make the right decision. And every single call he goes on he takes sides..Which is something cops aren't supposed to do! Jaime shouldn't be a Cop. He should go back to law school. Or become a social worker. Anything but a Cop!

A-freaking-men! I'm watching it now. Another thing is that all of this time spent on a CIVIL matter takes them away from CRIMINAL cases- you know, the ones they are PAID to work!

This is of course not the first time Jamie has used poor judgement.

A cop isn't supposed to take sides? If a cop responds to a domestic call, where a man has beaten his wife or child, he isn't supposed to make a decision on whom to arrest? What if someone had been shot? Is he not supposed to take a shooter into custody? Isn't that "taking a side? If there has been a car wreck, and one of the drivers is drunk, is he not supposed to "take a side?" A cop always has to make a decision on whom to believe, who needs to be taken into custody, etc., etc. "Taking a side" is what a cop has to do on every call.

Usually, Jamie is one of my favorite characters on this show. This past episode, however made me want to wipe that smug look on his face when Erin stopped him at the door.

I agree with abother poster: if she wanted to, Erin could have reported him to his superiors (I don't know if there's any reprimand on this wishful thinking).

reply

I 100% concur!!! I find myself yelling, "I love you, Jamie!" at least once per episode but not at all during this one! He had no business getting involved with the clearly unfit biological parents. His job was to remove that mentally deranged woman from the adoptive mother's residence & that was it. You know it's a bad plot line when eddie is coming off as the smart one against Jamie. I am very disappointed in this season so far :/

reply

Well in Police work, also military, and fireman as well?, You have the chain of command. Erin should have reported it to Sgt Renzuli . Then he lets his Lt know and so on and so forth. But if I was Erin I would've reported that little smugB astard. And his partner to. Them two get on my nerves!

Finally! I thought I was the only one that felt this way. Jaime can't keep out of anyone's business. he's a patrol cop. you get a call about a trespasser, you go remove the trespasser. if they don't go, you haul them downtown. simple.

Exactly!

reply

Because this is the setup for him to return to attorney work.

This was one of the few times when I actually agreed with Eddie.
