What was your favorite part?

My 5 year old niece is addicted to this movie. Fred's voice irritates me. The character seems mentally challenged. But I love the concept of the movie.. it kinda brings me back to old Nickelodeon, but this probably would have fit more as a cartoon back then.

Anyway, my absolute favorite part of the movie was the beginning of the party video where Bertha is with that gorilla(?) and she's like headbanging and making this amazing face. LOL I just love Jennette McCurdy.

Actually, Fred IS supposed to be mentally challenged - he suffered some kind of brain injury when he was younger (or so he says on his webisodes).

Jennette McCurdy is the whole reason I watched this movie in the first place. When I first saw the commercials for it, I cringed, and I was like, "Oh NO." But when I saw McCurdy as "Bertha" I was like, "oh god I HAVE to watch it now." But I'm glad I did! It's absolutely hilarious and Fred is nowhere near as annoying as he is on his youtube videos.

My favorite part is where Fred runs into Bertha at the pool that's empty because "some kid took a dump in it." It's that funny stuff Bertha says, like "are you dong-e-a-fong?" and "don't be a wong-i-mong-pong!" that had me cracking up! I had to rewind that part and watch it over a few times to catch everything she was saying. She plays such a great weird, kind of loser-but-cool type character. I think out of the entire iCarly cast, McCurdy has the best shot at going on and becoming more than just a childhood actor. I really hope she makes it.

Another part I liked was when Fred was trying to decide if he should take the ketchup with him. Then suddenly he's dressed like an army guy, and the ketchup is squirting all over him as he's flailing around like he's getting shot. LOL!! That scene is short but I just thought it was SO funny. He yells "I'M COMING FOR YA, KETCHUP!" like he was in the middle of a Viet Nam movie.

The other part that had me really laughing (literally) was when he raided his mom's closet, and dressed like a chick, trying to walk over to Judy's house without Kevin noticing it was him. The way he walks, LOL...like a drunk model...ROFL my god that scene is a RIOT. He walks like a goofball, with that horrendous jacket and big long red wig on, and then he suddenly realizes Kevin recognizes him, and he goes flailing home like a moron...I'm laughing just thinking about it!! Another thing that had me really laughing was when Fred tried taking off his clothes at the laundromat and that huge dude running the laundromat came up behind him going, "UHH! NO! UH-HUH! NO! UHH! NO!" That guy was freaking hilarious, he looked so pissed off while he was bopping around singing with Fred.

People are gonna hate him but Lucas really does have some talent, Nickelodeon knew what they were doing when they scooped him up for a movie. And kudos to the director, too - he captured a kind of retro comedy...they could have used cheap computer effects but they didn't, they kept it all very manual, home-made-style special effects (like the hilariously horrible-looking singing deer), like when Fred imagines himself "invisible" and keeps teasing Kevin with the ball. It reminded me of old-school slapstick comedy, like the 3 Stooges or The Monkees. And at a time when everything is about 3D and mind-blowing computer graphics, Fred is actually very refreshing and retro. There was a very deliberate 70s feel to it.

Yeah, I didn't like the iCarly Fred episode.. But I cannot tell a lie, for some reason this movie made me appreciate his brand of humor more. I'm not into the whole hyper annoying kid thing but there were parts of this movie that I really enjoyed.

For example, I love the whole speech Kevin gives about how he has perfect pitch LOL I was cracking up at that part, too. I was like who writes this stuff? Just certain parts of the movie like that, and when Fred was in the pet store, those two guys (I swear they were gay?) were just incredible with their line delivery.

Bertha I loved, I wish I could've seen more of her but I guess you'd miss the point of her character if she was in your face all the time.

Is anyone else reminded of Napoleon Dynamite when watching this movie?

Let me get this straight. You didn't watch the movie, so you came to the messageboard for it to read topics about it, and then inform other people that you didn't watch it. Uhhh...WHY? People are messed up, they apparently like torturing themselves by going someplace to talk about the things they hate or worse, that they don't even know about. Yeah that really makes sense. The only explanation is that you're a troll and your mommy & daddy don't give you enough attention, and not one pays attention to you in school, so you've got to go somewhere for negative attention because you actually have nothing positive or intelligent to contribute. Did I hit the bull's eye?
those two guys (I swear they were gay?)
Yeah LOL they were a tad more than kind of gay. I like when the one guy accidentally sprays the other one in the eyes with mace, and he yells something like "this is worse than the time you made me stay at the Marriott!"

I agree, I couldn't get enough of McCurdy, she has what seems a natural talent (who knows though, maybe she took acting lessons) at portraying very different characters. I am always slightly amazed whenever I see the Sam's twin sister episode and she does the extra-girly "Melanie." The Fred movie definitely could have had more Bertha parts.

"Are you dong-e-a-fong?" "W-WHAT?" "Don't be a wong-i-mong-pong." "I'M NOT A WIMP!!"

No you missed the mark completely junior.

After witnessing such a disgraceful pile of horse poo he came to IMDB to see just how putrid others thought this abomination to be.

I turned it off after 5 minutes and that was at least 4 minutes longer than it deserved.

I agree! That whole Fred-dressed-as-a-woman-scene was so funny! Bertha made me laugh out loud so much!
I also loved when Fred is dreaming about Judy being kidnapped, and his Mom is like "I got your mail right here!" And shooting bullets everywhere!
xD
I loved this movie.

I liked the credits because I could leave.

When I turned this pile of crap off after 20 minutes.

It doesn't matter! I'll go home with anyone!
That's what it should say on the van.

My favorite part was when Fred was running around screaming his head off. I also like the Fred's party scene. Oh and the little/big kid with the ball that must have been missing. The John Cena scenes.

I enjoyed the part where Justin Bieber sodomizes Fred with a broomstick and then curb-stomps him. A bit graphic for a kid's movie... but what can ya do?

reply

Obviously the best part of the whole movie is its end

reply

no offence, but my favorite part was when the movie got over!
