Thriller vs Horror

I went into this knowing absolutely nothing, other than Noomi Rapace was in it. I immediately noticed the guy from Next Door and was admittedly hesitant, because I wasn't a fan, but I also knew there would be a serious psychological aspect to the film.

Now, here's where the movie suffers. As a thriller/drama it's an average film with a ridiculous twist ending, but as a horror film, it works not only on the surface, but as complex tale, where deciphering real and imagined takes on a real challenge. The ending makes complete sense as a horror movie, much like Dark Water, with everything tied up perfectly, but you don't realize it, until the credits.

I liked it, despite watching it as a thriller, but going back over it in my head, I'd recommend it to horror fans, but not to those who are looking for mindless thrillers.
