Sally And Aidan

The Sally and Aidan love story was probably the worst thing to happen to the show. At first I thought them killing off all the vampores was the worst thing but seriously this was just a bad mistake. I get that most of the audience wanted Sally and Aidan together because I sure did and I also wanted Josh and Nora to break up like yesterday but I would've been pissed if they broke them up on the last 3 episodes ever. That was just really stupid, late, and lazy writing. They could've at least had a better storyline to why they got together. They had 0 chemistry, although I must say that they did have little moments like 3 times in season 3, but them continuously pointing out that the feelings have always been there was just dumb. They always just gave off a friend vibe. At first when Sally asked about the kiss and Aidan said he felt something, I thought he was just joking or trying to not hurt her feelings, but him being foreal just made me not even want to watch the rest of the season. I really bounced back and forth between favorite characters. Aidan was immediately my favorite character because A. he was a vampire and B. he's hot. There were scenes though where one minute he would be super hot than super pale all of a suddenly. Then, Sally became my favorite character until she just became so eye roll worthy. She was hard-headed as hell. She would do the complete opposite of what people clearly tell her not to do and than cry about the consequences. I loved when Josh said somethingn about her always having good intentions when she does things but also leaves deep damage behind because it was so true. It's like just stop. Then towards the end, when Sally got the real Josh out from being trapped inside of his beautiful wolf, That's when I knew Josh was my favorite character. He was sweet the whole time and never willingly turned his back on Aidan no matter how much Nora tried to make him see the evil in Aidan in season 2. God know Nora irritated me. All in all it was a great show that I just binge watched on Netflix. It's crazy because I've never heard about the show on tv. I didn't even know it was a show until I looked up "Shows for girls on Netflix" Maybe it would still be on if they promoted it better. Anyways, Good show. Some lazy writing here and there but it was good. Happy Ending

As I understand it, from the beginning the show was meant to have a 5 season arc, and then it would end. Unfortunately, between seasons 3 and 4, the show was bought by another company, and the new budget made continuing two more seasons unfeasible. So they negotiated one more season to end the show. The season 4 we ended up with was actually seasons 4 and 5 smooshed in to one.

You could see things building in season 3 that were simply dropped for time in season 4... the most obvious storyline to me was Blake's ambition to take Boston back from Kenny. Blake just disappeared from the show! Suzanna looked terrified the first time Aidan looked at Isaac, and then relieved when Aidan accepted the child as his own. That was a whopping hint that Isaac was actually Reverend Herring's son, but Suzanna never said a word, so it may have been a dropped storyline. That would have been the ultimate betrayal to Aidan, finding out the only child he ever had was never really his. And this was just the show to screw over their own characters in such a way! Aidan vowed to God to be a Good Man in exchange for a healthy child. What would the vow have meant to him after finding out? Ah, but now we'll never know...

I found myself very disappointed in some of the story lines, simply because either too many people had seen it coming, or it had already been done in the UK version. Aidan and Sally's relationship fell under both umbrellas. The ghost and the vampire had a romantic relationship in the UK version. The complication there was this: although the werewolves and vampires could touch the ghost as if she were real, after 8 decades of being a vampire, to him sex was only a means to feeding and killing. With the woman he loved, he was impotent. Their relationship was romantic, but it would never be sexual. So the ghost/vampire pairing had already been done, and add to that having the US storyline condensed too much due to the dropped season, and I could have done without Aidan/Sally.

Josh was always my favorite character, I guess because he was the one I could most easily relate to. Not always, but most of the time. =)

All in all, it was a great show. It was a fascinating universe to explore.

I had no problem with them getting together, I actually wanted them together but like you said they had no buildup and it was very rushed. I don't like romances like that

It did seem to come out of the blue, and at first I thought they were "jumping the shark". But, it didn't take long until I was hooked and rooting for them. So glad the way it turned out.
