I take the opportunity of strolling on this message board to see if Age of dragons is worth it but apparently not. So I ask myself and you is there anything more or less good with dragons.
Seems like following movies are crap Fire & Ice Dungeon & Dragons Age of dragons
I liked Reign of Fire and seems like Dragonheart is ok. What's left?
_____________ I m' in love with a lot of actresses. It's a way of not taking risks !!!;-)
Depends on "good". Most of these sort of films are "B-Movies" with either unknown actors or a couple of faded vets mixed with special effects and a standard attacked by a monster plot. Usually the only way of determining their worth is the effects or if you happen to like the star. Wyvern, another Syfy movie had decent dragon effects (as long as it wasn't interacting with any of the cast) but of course being another TV movie is a bit on the cheap side. Perhaps Dragonslayer? I am going to give Age of the Dragons a shot. It's on tv so it's free, another poster reported that the dragon effects were okay, and it's got a cockamamie Moby Dick lifted plot (so they didn'y have to write their own story- a major downfall of many low-budget movies)
You've already mentioned two good ones that were on my list. Here are some you can consider:
Good Movies: Reign of Fire (2002) Dragonheart (1996) Dragon Slayer (1981)**
B-Movies worth watching: Dragon Wars** Dragon Storm Dragon Quest Eragon Wyvern Dragon Sword (aka George and the Dragon)** Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God (not to be confused with the original Dungeon & Dragons)
Family/Animated Movie: Pete's Dragon How to Train Your Dragon Neverending Story** Mulan
Dragonslayer is awesome - every scene with the old wizard is just what you'd expect. Then... the other part :( ---- he's barely in it... well, not enuf.
Thanks for the tip, Appearance. I never did get around to watching "Fire &Ice". I didn't even know it was about dragons.
BTW, I was going to suggest "Reign of Fire", but you already saw it. How about "Dragon-slayer". It was released in the early eighties but the special effects definitely hold up.

Logan: I don't know. Rogue: You don't know, or you don't care? Logan: Pick one. X-Men
Way back in silent film days famed German director Fritz Lang did a version of Siegfried with a large mechanical dragon.
The Disney short The Reluctant dragon could be good.
The Russian film Ilya Murometz or The Sword and the Dragon from the 1950s has a good three headed dragon in the final epic battle.
The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grim from the 1960s has a large bejeweled dragon (where did they get that idea?) in one of the fairy tales.
I believe that one of the Ray Harryhausen Sinbad movies has a dragon.
Good giant monster movies like Godzilla and The Giant behemoth have sort of science fiction versions of dragons.
The "terror dactyle" in Rodan is sort of a flying dragon.
Ghideroth, the Three Headed Monster looks like a three headed dragon.
And notoriously bad giant monster movies like Reptilicus and The Giant Claw have sort of dragon like monsters.
I think that all the Beowulf movies have Grendel, but I don't know if any of them feature the dragon.
Smaug, the dragon from The Hobbit, was eeen in the animated version decades ago and will be seen in one or more of the upcoming Hobbit trilogy.
If anyone ever makes movies based on The Sillmarillion. you may one day see Glaurung the Golden, Father of dragons, and Ancalagon The Black, most terrible of Dragons.
