The 'sensitive musician'? Are you #%@*ing kidding me?

Based on the way the show is written, I'm guessing if they do get together, things will not progress swimmingly, but I can't get over how mind-numbingly cliche Mr. Smile is. And besides that, there's nothing to endear us to whats-his-smile-guitar-slouch. We know NOTHING about him besides the fact that he's a musician, he's charming and he smiles. But then, I guess we didn't know much about Bryson either.

The way I see it, the musician/potential boyfriend is a major flaw with the show. Try as they might, this show will never be truly endearing to nerds if Liz keeps falling for the guy who has to do nothing but smile and be funny for Liz to like him. Yes, it's not very realistic for Liz to end up with a guy like Sully, but that's not what I'm suggesting.
To be fair, we might see some character development in coming episodes, but I seriously doubt it. We're probably going to see more smiling than talking from this guy. Well, there's actually a good chance we will find out that he likes Arcade Fire, Band of Horses, and Sammy the Flying Dinglepoo ...that last one doesn't exist. Honestly, when you recall the character, what do you think about? You think about the smile. That's IT! That's not a good thing!! That's bad writing!!!

I guess I'm just going off a bit because I DO like this show. But it's not easy to like it when the writers keep giving me reasons not to.

The guys roommate who you refer to as Mr. Smile looks like she has a thing for him and that made Liz feel awkward.
Bryson and Liz might hook up but Sully and her no in interviews she says she doesnt think of Sully in a romantic way at all and hes her best friend ever.

I thought you were the one I could believe in. Now you say nothing. And really that says it all.</3
