Sorry, hot girls are never 'nerds'

I know a bunch of average to ugly "nerd girls" are going to disagree with me, as will a bunch of permavirgin nerds who have a crush on some girl who claims to like zombie movies, but hot girls are never nerds. They're hot girls. Liz is far too hot to be an outcast, even if she just wanted to play video games, read comics, and play Dungeons and Dragons all day she'd still be able to get laid by good looking dudes. I hate that TV and movies like to pretend that hot girls can go unnoticed - it just panders to virgin nerds who think one day some smoking hot girl is going to be ignored by enough better men that she'll settle for fat, boring, "nice guy" type fumbling losers.

Chicks like Liz can be as weird as they want, she's thin and cute and plenty of dudes will put up with way more than a few comic books and Star Wars references in order to jiggles some guts.

I wish a show had the guts to show a real "nerd girl" - mentally unstable, plain (at best), poorly dressed, and endlessly attention seeking. That'll never happen, of course, since TV can't even portray male nerds correctly (Hint : they're not quirky, intelligent, moderately good-looking guys with wicked senses of humor).

Either way, I hope Liz gets topless at some point.

"How would you feel if the people you hung out with for the past 3 years of your life wanted nothing to do with you"

She quit hanging out with her friends to go try and conform with other crowds, so any reasons her friends quit speaking to her was her own fault.

"They don't even mention this on the show but I heard Liz had to transfer to another school her junior year to avoid Cori because it got so bad"

That never happened.

Makes sense. I don't know anything about her Sophomore year or why she left.

"jiggles some guts" -- ahahaaha, never heard that one before, nice!

And agreed. Perhaps we never see actual nerds portrayed well because they're not particularly compelling on screen -- save Dianne from Fat Camp. She's really the only one that comes to mind and meets all of your criteria. And people loved her!

Yes! I wish she had a show or was on another show. She was so funny.

GumWrapper is 100% correct...

Even if she was ugly let's say... once she's hot her whole demeanor will change. Her self-esteem, the way other people treat her, the way she will begin to carry herself...

Often times those nerdy to hot girls become the polar opposite of what they were as if to compensate.

Shes great. Dont talk about people you dont know like that.

it is mathmatically impossible for someone to have such a change without outside divine intervention.
people live a specific way and it becomes nearly impossible to change.
ie a jackass can not become a nice awesome person who cares for everyone with out something to push him to do that. just like a nice sweet caring woman who wouldnt even kill a bear if it was attacking her will not beable to become the complete opisite with out some type of forced change.ie brainwashing, hypnosis or divine intervention.
its just mathmatically impossible for people to just change over night
even if said person has lived there hole life in the gutter and then suddenly gets a make over that makes them look like an angel
it just doesnt happen

THANK YOU, GumWrapper! I haven't read the replies yet, but somewhere (I don't know when, late 90's??) it became a trend to label yourself as a 'nerd', i.e. "I love to read, I'm such a nerd, omg.", "I still watch Disney movies a lot, omg, I'm like such a nerd!" ....
I'm not in HS anymore, but when I was in HS I was very popular and wasn't your stereotypical jock or cheerleader, I was me. I was extremely friendly, yet VERY sarcastic, accepting, I talked to EVERY single cliqué, I was always going on trips with my theatre troupe and did plays more than homework, I hung out with the band kids, didn't listen to 'popular' music, etc. etc. Oh, I wore glasses most of the time, too. No. I was not a nerd. I never called myself a nerd and neither did anyone else. Yes, I was considered very, very quirky/unique. Girls that would be considered nerds were the mousy, quiet girls who purposely tried to dress down (Liz may not dress in Chanel, but the 'emo'/'scene' clothes CAN BE expensive and they ARE trendy, very trendy) and they didn't speak to ANYONE. Not even an entourage of guys (I also hung out with mostly guys for the most part). I don't know about seeing her topless, lol, but your post is completely valid; no, no one wants to see a TRUE outcasted young lady.

reply

Oh please, this broad is far from being a nerd. A lot of unnerdy people like Star Wars.

I might be a little young, but honey I ain't naive

Have you been to Comic-Con?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder lots of people like me who aren't very picky find beautiful, but she is flat chested, and in comparison to the 3 blond bimbos the norm of modern society would consider her plain at best.

Swing and a miss there, champ. I'm going to tell you this for your own good, ok?

First - your idea that "norm of modern society" is blonde "bimbos" shows a ridiculously undersocialized worldview. The idea that society only wants blondes shows you get most of your ideas about how the world works from television shows.

Secondly - Liz is hot, by any societal standard. When a girl like Liz walks into any place - comic book store, club, grocery store, mall, etc - men notice and want to talk to her.

Thirdly - Thinking she's hot doesn't mean you aren't picky...that's ridiculous, bro. She got an MTV show because she's hot, not because of her rocking personality. I know TV and movies have conditioned you to think that because she's flat chested (she's really not) she probably doesn't get a lot of dates, but that's nonsense.

Fourthly - From your username and ideas on women and the Comic Con reference, I can tell you're a nerd, and likely still in high school. That's not so bad, bro. But if you want to score dime pieces that look like Liz, you're gonna have to rely on more than being nice. Hot chicks (even the ones who trendily call themselves nerds) date good looking, interesting dudes who are in shape. I'm guessing you're the kind of guy who would refer to himself as "nice" and is very bland and boring. Go to the gym, lose some weight, gain some muscles, and get some hobbies that aren't "reading sci-fi/fantasy novels" and "video games". Go out, socialize, do things with other people. Get rid of the ridiculous idea that hot chicks are bimbos if they're pretty and fashionable. It marks you as a virgin who doesn't have a lot of experience with women.

This isn't a personal attack on you, I've just known a great deal of people exactly like you, and I want to help, man.

reply

I didn't say society only wants Blonds, I was making a point.

The kind of Hot she is isn't uncommon though, I've met very few women less attractive then her, and I don't live in a very impressive town either.

I'm 25, and I was never in a traditional High School I was Home Schooled, I consider myself a Nerd but I'm not your typical Nerd just as I'm not your Typical Fundamentalist Christian.

reply

Agreed on all fronts Gum Wrapper. Liz is hot at all levels, ''nerd'' or not, I would crush those guts without hesitation...

To add on to GW's point, those girls go for guys with confidence and guys that look like they can protect them (it is instinctual for women to feel safe). Anyhoo, the non-confident guy (who may be brilliant from a intellectual standpoint) will lose out to the confident dude 10/10 of the time.

That is all.

I honstly don't understad...if she was soo hot this whole show would seem like a complete farce

And besides take away the red hair and not all that special IMO

The hot "nerd" is one of the most annoying hot girl personalities to put up with. They're not nerds, but they want to pretend they are to define themselves for various different reasons, and if you want to hang with them, you have to pretend they're a nerd too and buy into their bull *beep* And it's a race to see how long you can hold your tongue before blasting her for what a pretentious poser she is.

Every now and then you'll meet an actual ugly ducking who was a genuine nerd who grew up into a hot chick. They're even more screwed up than the pretenders.

if you have ever been to comic con or any comic convention you would know that 99% of the woman who attend them are infact some of the most sexy gorgeous woman in the universe.

im sorry but you dont know what the *beep* your talking about.
the norm of society would find her gorgeous and thats a fact.
no one in there right mind would find liz to be less then stunning.

Beauty=Money especially in TV.

Liz is really pretty so I get where you're coming from but I'm guessing you've forgotten to take a person's personality, attitude and confidence into account. People don't just get laid or even go out to get laid just because they're considered "hot" or "prettier than average" there's a lot more that goes into it. Not to mention all the people that are shy and awkward about the topic in general...
