to see it get a 5.5 rating just highlights how retarded members here can be. too many watch shows like this expecting some sophisticated believable super hero storyline, and the moment they realise it's more light hearted and funny, they slam it hard.

I just wish they wouldn't bother watching at all, we already know they weren't gonna like it by default, so who really cares what they think about the show. Would be like me watching Glee and then giving it a 1 rating because I absolutely hate it [haven't even watched an episode but I am sure I will hate it, which is why I wouldn't rate it, although reviews are fine of course.

I thoroughly enjoyed "The Cape" and the way they presented the humour [and cheese] didn't make me cringe every other scene. shame there will be no season 2.

I don't think that's what's going on. I think they start out looking for flaws, and then point them out heavy-fistedly--and by that I mean they jump all over any flaw they can find, just for the sake of finding flaws. They don't even have to be the first one to notice the flaw, because their main objective is to look down the nose at something. Anything.

It's a variation on the theme of bullying: "If I can put you down, that means I'm superior to you." It's not rational but it works for them. It's cheap, it's easy, it's public, it's the lazy person's way to achieve superiority without having to study hard, have an original idea, create something, or do any work.

Always feel free to attack someone as a substitute for thinking.

I love the excuses being made here. No one watched this show because it was absolute trash. The acting, writing, and basically everything about it was horrible. I actually came here because I saw something on it and forgot it existed. You think people stopped watching it because the wanted believability?  Why are shows like The Flash and Arrow popular when those are soapy trash? Those shows are masterpieces compared to this garbage. It WILL NEVER come back. No chance at all.

I agree. This show was a wonderful, campy ode to old school comics and it was good fun! Not the smartest, but it didn't need to be...because it was FUN!

I want to be optimistic, but not only did they kill the show, they also seem to have cut it off without finishing it properly (26 episodes down to 13 down to 10, right?)

Although, given the way TV is heading, they could resurrect it and point it in the RIGHT direction (e.g. more family-audiences, acknowledging the camp while keeping up the budget) and make it something both unique and... even more unique than most of the other stuff online.

Ratings sunk this show...that and its inconsistency. I liked it; I didn't think it was great by any stretch, but it was entertaining, which is all you can ask for from a tv show, particularly one like this.

Check out Arrow. It may not be as humorous, but it's very well done and take its subject matter seriously. It has a deep and fleshed out mythology, solid acting all around, and a network committed to keeping it. You won't be disappointed.

It was a show with above-average writing but good characters and actors with charisma, whom I cared about.

I binge-watched it in one day, I liked it that much.

The Cape's ratings, by week

2.6 (an ok start)
1.8 (huge drop to barely survivable number- probably doomed)
1.6 (dropped more, probably doomed)
1.5 (first lowering of episode order, preparation for cancellation)
1.3 (at this point, obviously completely doomed)
1.2 (cancellation announced)
1.1

I missed a week or two in there, but you can see the trend.
