Sacha Dhawan is an awesome actor...i saw him in History Boys in London...and wicked hot...
I think the show has potential...I think it will get more into the characters and less about the stereotypes (Both American and Indian) if it gets a chance to go through a season.
His Indian accent is atrocious though. Considering he's Indian he should be able to do a decent accent...

Back in school (West Georgia College, early '70s) I had a friend who was an exchange student from Israel who had a thick accent that, I assume, was Israeli.
Anyway, coming back from Summer break, she tells me of her plane trip where she sat by a Frenchman.
They used English as their common language and the French guy thought she was an American from the South!
So where all I heard was this strangely accented English, the English she DID pick-up was a Georgian drawl.

Wow...really?!?! By your ill and misconceived logic then every Anglo in American should be able to do a fine German, British, French etc. accent or every African American should be able to mimic an African tribe's (not sure which tribe/tribes do this in Africa) clicking sound then, correct? BTW, as it turns out, majority of people from other countries have the American accent down to an art form (regardless of region) whereas the other way, not so much ;). Accents ARE a strange thing, just because you look the part doesn't mean you automatically have the ability to do the accent.
