I wrote about this show before I watched it

This show is more of a satire rather than a reality since most call centers in India have become somewhat Americanized in terms of culture. The more technologically progressive cities in India have become proficient at servicing US based clients. The employees could not be more corny on this show, especially Gupta's character.

That Americanization was shown in the first episode. Remember at the end when Manmeet referenced Raging Bull and Goodfellas instead of the Hindu stuff?

Yeah but the thing is Gupta's character is real, I know, I have one in my office and we now call 'her' Gupta - although she protests she's nothing like that character, the rest of us stare at her like 'suuuuureeee ooookaaay'.

And for some of the extreme examples, people have to remember this is a sitcom, the characters, like on any given sitcom are heightened and from time to time are pushed to the boundaries of reality.

And the work environment, I mean I hear arguments that Mumbai doesn't look like that and no call center in India would be on the ground level with windows - seriously? it's not a friggin documentary, welcome to the world of Television.

As a New Yorker born and bred, I could easily pull up sitcoms or even movies based in NYC and pick away at them and say 'That would never happen in NY - our lamp posts and traffic lights don't look like that' etc etc. I can spot a Californian Studio scene a mile away, but everyone knows deal, it's not meant to be accurate down to the last detail.
