So are we to assume..

That Kyle's dad had a change of heart?

We see at the end that he goes to Kyle's concert with the intention of confronting him, but when he sees Kyle play, his anger seems to fade, and he seems to also start to feel proud of him..
But the only interaction we see between the two at the concert is the little wave he gives Kyle, which Kyle barely acknowledges.. and we don't see any interaction between the two of them after the concert..
So.. are we to assume that dad changed his mind about Kyle's music, and stopped being so adamant that his son was a screw-up? And maybe let Kyle just follow his dreams after all?

I know that's how the formula in movies like this usually works, but we usually don't get as many plot holes around this kind of stuff..
So what do you guys think? Is Kyle's dad proud of him now, and did he drop the whole 'my son's a screw up because he's a musician' thing, and just let Kyle follow his dream?

It seemed to me that he did have a change of heart, but when he saw the crowd cheering. He realized that he does have a shot at becoming a successful musician.
