Who Takes a Bath with Their 9 year Old?

WTF? Maybe in LA parents and kids get naked in the same room, but I know a lot of parents and we don't get naked and jump into the bathtub with our kids. And the kid is old enough to bathe herself. So...how about teaching kids about privacy? I'm sure this is supposed to indicate that Demi is a very "new age" mom, but parents don't get in the bathtub naked with their kids. That's some kind of boundary issue. And teenage girls don't get naked in front of their mothers. Their friends, yes. Their mothers, not usually. That scene threw me. The rest of the movie was hard to watch because it was written so badly and the acting was just an after thought like nobody cared.

That scene is the only reason why I watched it. Don't care about the 9 year old, but the though of the older daughter and the mom. Wowzers!

My sister brings her 9 year old daughter into the shower with her. She says it saves her a ton of time.

I think the scene was only included because it was in the original version, I guess I'm France they get into their tub together.

Yes it's in the original movie. I don't know how common it is in France, but it's not shocking for sure, especially for girls/women. I was often visiting that hot 15yo neighbor when I was a teen (I'm French) and once I arrived as she was just getting out of the tub, where her 8 or 9 yo sister was still bathing, so it happens.

idk where ur from but my mom and i were always naked infront of each other. even now, me married and stuff, i dont think anything about being naked infront of my mom and having her check me out if i think something isnt right with me..we've always had that kind of relationship and imo it's not weird at all ::shrug::

Why would teenage girls be afraid to get naked in front of their mothers? That's weird to even think that's weird, to me.

The only girls or Mothers that would feel weird are girls or Mothers with body image issues. Maybe Mothers who taught them that being naked is bad or some other serious family issue, molestation comes to mind.
