Alternate version of this movie about Demi and Miley's relationship

Is it just me, or could this movie be easily re-cut and turned into a romantic comedy about the relationship between Demi and Miley's characters? They're supposed to be mother and daughter in this movie, but there are a lot scenes where it makes it seem as if they are a couple. Miley gets naked in front of her in the bathroom, Demi checks her daughter out and comments on her Brazilian, there is a *LOT* of hugging and touching between the two of them, and they both seem jealous of the other one dating someone else.

At the end where they're snuggling in bed I actually expected Miley to turn around and then to full-on kiss. It wouldn't have surprised me.
