The 'actress' who plays Dorothy

I think if you replaced this woman with a plank of wood, it would display more emotion and expression. I lost count of the number of times whilst watching where I had to ask myself whether this film contained a hidden joke I wasn't in on that would explain the numerous fatalities. On a better note, kudos to the guy who played the uncle, I thought he was the only good thing about this production.

I have to agree - I'm actually feeling irritated, I hate it when a show leaves me this way.

The whole way through I'm screaming for them to get to the point, they make a scene last 4 times as long as it should and there's no logic to anything that's going on. So that alone gets to me.

But the sappy way Dorothy is being portrayed is really grating on me. I can't believe I was willing the witch to just finish her off.

I'm not going to blame the actress alone at all because I know you only do what you're told and work with the script and story you are given so I have to question the people that would let this go out!

I suppose in a recession it's just bankable to slap together a few big names, a rubbish storyline and plaster Oz all over it and we'll watch. I'm living proof of that! I will be watching part two next week but I can't guarantee my television will survive it.

I, too, must agree. I even found myself saying at one point "I just don't believe her." Her acting was terrible! She definitely wasn't the only one who had really terrible acting, but it's just more inexcusable in the main character. I also have to place some fault with the director though, because a better director would have given her better direction on how to emote, or at least seen that perhaps she wasn't right for the role.

I really don't go in for the whole "hating on actresses if they touch a favorite actor" deal, usually because girls do that out of their own jealousy. However, I definitely found myself hating on this actress when Dorothy and Nick were kissing at the end, thinking "Stop it! You're not a good enough actress to deserve to do that! Stop this kissing scene before Billy catches your bad acting!!" And when she did try to put on emotion, most times it just came across as her being whiny and pathetic.

Excellent comments... I have nothing to add ;)

If they pay me to watch this I would still say no!

To answer your question, yes, there was a hidden joke in the film which exclusively mocked you and your inability to count. If that's not an indicator that you're in no way qualified to form an opinion on a film, let alone share it with the world via IMDb, I don't know what is. Some advice: delete your account and come back when you gain some basic intelligence.

Get yourself a dictionary and look up the word 'idiom'. The saddest individuals are those who shamefully attempt to insult others based on nothing more than disagreeing with what they have to say. IMDb allows people to share their opinions on film and tv productions, not to personally attack its members. Some advice: delete your account and come back when you gain some basic manners.

u mad?

You're right, I have no manners. I apologize for insulting your intelligence and all the tears that you have clearly shed from how butt-hurt you appear to now be. How could I ever doubt the eminent opinion of evelyn_rw the most brilliant of all free IMDb reviewers. The assertive and dynamic aggressiveness of your prose puts you on par with Ellsworth Toohey which is why it escapes me as to how I could ever think that your opinion is stupid and without valid qualification.

That made me lol.

Take a lap, champ.

Your use of the word prose on the last post clearly shows up your pretentious agenda. That will be all.

A troll, don't bother replying.

So basically anyone that doesn't like what you like should not be allowed an opinion? Your head isn't up your own ass at all though. Really....LOLOL

I thought maybe it was just me, but i feel the same way, i started to watched it and i can honestly say i forced myself to finish watching it. But i found myself dozing of and actually falling asleep. It was not bad, the special effects were good and some part of the show did caught my attention but her acting its what killed me.

Just watched it, and I'd have to agree. Her acting was the worst part of this gloriously bad production. She made Zooey Deschanel's performance in Tin Man look Emmy-worthy, which, if you've seen Tin Man, is saying something.

"He's already attracted to her. Time and monotony will do the rest."

reply

ha ha ha!! it's funny as i read the first post, all i could think of was how horrible zoey deschannel was in tin man... and if this actress is worse, yikes!! then for sure i won't be watching this...

as one poster said, reimagining of classics is fine if you do it well and creatively.. look at once upon a time, while it's very uneven, overall the show is good and clever (esp. with character names) but at least it's an interesting spin on things

oh well thanks to all of you for the warning on this one!
