Could be a lot better

I hadn't even heard of this show until I saw it on TV Guide. Looking at the description I decided why not, I'll give it a chance. So, I watched the first episode and was, lets say disapointed. But, many shows have bad first episodes so I'll give it another chance I decided and so I began to watch the second episode. Long story short I got about halfway, maybe twenty minutes into it before I just gave up. No matter how hard I tried to give this show a chance I just couldn't, the writing is horrible and so much potential is being thrown away in order to stick to an overdone concept of cartoon sitcoms.

What I wonder is, if their going to use demons from hell as the primary characters, why not use actual demons from hell so to speak instead of basically normal people with green skin and maybe some powers. This should could be quite watchable, even funny, if the main characters acted like we'd expect demons to act, basically evil to varying degrees, not caring about humanity and even trying to get them to stray and become evil so as to buy them a one way ticket to hell, you know, a little recruiting. The concept could have been the head of the family has to stop the drilling without getting caught as a demon and for some reason his family, or a group of demons that could act like a family, is also sent with him to cause a little trouble, cause people to sin and tempt them from the path of rightiousness and so on. This could have lead to more comedy than this as they'd have been truley evil to some degree, some more than others, but forced to try and blend in while leading the normal humans into sin. The writers could use more dark humor, even show people being lead to sin and their lives spiralling down into Hell and they could have had a lot more to work with. But no, they decided to make another animated sitcom. Well, as a concept, it had potential, I'll give it that, though don't expect me to be watching.

I expect nothing less than gratuitous violence from the lot of ya.
