When will season 4 be on netflix?

Since the blu ray have been out a while.

maybe a little while yet. The Blu Rays been out for a month now. I got it. It looks fantastic

^ALTHOUGH the blacks are inconsistent between the first episode and the rest of the season on that Blu-Ray. I don't know why this was the case. Considering it was delayed for a month from its original release date, I find this a bit of a disappointment.

I swore to myself that episode "Wanted" appeared with deeper levels of Blacks on the broadcast version vs. the Blu-Ray version. I can confirm this after comparing with my uncle's DVR'ed version and my Blu-Ray on the same calibrated Television. You can even tell by pausing at either a commercial black screen break or credits, then comparing it with the episodes after on the same disc. Clearly inconsistent.

^ OCD feels.

Wish I wasn't but I can't help it lol. But I'm sure it'd be noticeable even to the casual eye. This doesn't necessarily detract the video quality but in terms of consistency and blacks, it's a bit of a downfall. 'cause anything black appears dark grey-ish for that episode only. Even the blu-ray reviews mentioned it, some even saying it might be intentional.

reply

I think it looks absolutely outstanding
i have only seen glowing reviews for the transfer like this one also and it does say its intentional here

Nikita's fourth Blu-ray release looks every bit as good as the three that have come before it, with an excellent 1080p/AVC-encoded video presentation free of compression issues and other indications that Warner's use of a single BD-50 was a mistake. (It's important to remember previous seasons also featured 5-6 episodes per disc.) Color and contrast are once again stylized and graded to the point that skintones are sometimes skewed, blacks crush and primaries struggle, but it's all in keeping with the showrunners' intentions. Thankfully, shadows are deep and dark (minus those in the first episode, which are rather muted by design), delineation remains quite impressive, and detail is rarely hindered. Edges? Crisp and clean; no serious ringing to report. Textures? Refined and rewarding, even when the image grows a tad noisy. Overall clarity? Terrific, and again, without the macroblocking, banding or aliasing that might muck up the proceedings. Nikita's Blu-ray run finishes strong.

I know there are glowing reviews for the video quality but I still have to wonder why the blacks / contrast is inconsistent just for that episode. It could even be a mistake when encoding it for home video. Tweeting at one of the Nikita peeps might be the only way to get an answer out of that one. Either way, it still looks good.

Omg how many times are you gonna say blacks?

reply

Yea it is weird they aint on yet, since Netflix is the reason we even got a season 4.
