I love this show!

First, I want to say I'm American and until I saw "Corner Gas," the only Canadian sitcoms I'd ever seen were "Trailer Park Boys" and "Red Green Show." (Okay, there was SCTV but that was sketch comedy and that's a completely different animal.)

I promptly fell in love with it and immediately acquired all six series. Then I turned my mother onto it and watched all six series yet again. Who cared if you saw it before? They were great. I'll watch 'em all six more times.

Then I read the review of "Hiccups" and I thought, well, doesn't sound very promising but got it anyway. My mother and I are both really loving it. Is it as good as "Corner Gas"? No, but that was lightning in a bottle - superb writing, superb ensemble cast, etc.

Still, "Hiccups" is shaping up - the characters are starting to round out nicely and I still want to see more. I'm glad it's been renewed - comedy may stink in the U.S. but I still have Canada, Australia, and of course, the UK to rely on.

thank heavens!
