No discussions?

What's the deal with this movie? Four years old, big name actors...no discussions here...and it seems the DVD is only now being released. Was it just a horrendous film that never saw the light of day?

What Would Gibson Do?

I just got through watching it and it made no sense to me. The only sense it made was people losing something whether it was good or bad.

reply

oh if it was known to be horrendous these forums would be a little busy. i'm guessing no one even heard of it, I didn't

It's because it's so bad that they changed the name to American Breakdown and they haven't released it yet. I got the notification from RedBox this morning. it's a "Redbox Exclusive" so that should tell you how bad it it.

I am puzzled, for the life of me I don't know how something like this could happen. Gandolfini, Carell, big name actors. Even Harnett and Walker are on big films from time to time.

I trust that one day we'll know the whole story. Maybe someone owed someone a favor.

I was wondering the same thing. The other day I also saw that it was a 'Redbox Exclusive'. I was temped to rent it, but went with 'Kill the Irishman' instead. The music in the trailer sounds pretty dope though.

reply

I want to watch it in spite of the horrible reviews (there are some on Amazon). I've always wanted to see Carell in a serious role, I think he would be great.

reply

This is a nonspeaking role for Carell that only last a few minutes.

movie tagline should be "when bad things happem to good people!", the bad being this movie and the good being the actors! the stories in this movie make no sense, and of they leave you hanging with an unfinished ending! Paul Walkers face is.on thd cover so I rented it, he was in the movie for 5 seconds..min.! I do not blame him for not wamting to be seen in this mess of a movie!... waste of time! worst then that movie 'buried' with Ryan Reynolds!

reply

That's not the half of it. One of those short stories, "Street of Pain" with Steve Carell, is a story about a guy playing dodgeball in the style of a John Woo movie. Obviously, this doesn't belong. Then again, the whole movie doesn't belong from what I can tell from the negative criticism I've been reading.
