I didn't get that at all. I thought he liked Amber -but was willing to go for Chloe instead, since she was more of a sure thing. I think he was more impressed by Ian's talent in singing and (as everyone thought) writing the song rather than looking that way because of any personal feelings towards Ian himself.

Allistair, on the other hand, might be gay.

Alastair was already identified as gay. Not by himself, but by others, and his behavior rather supports that. Interesting the way he was looking at Trent in Chloe's makeup. It's possible Trent is gay and has been using this whole macho sports: it's just what you do compulsion as his way of denying it.

You know, if it was just by the others, I wouldn't have taken that as confirmation, since people can be wrong about others. But, since it's his own behavior, that's what makes me think it.

I think it would make for an interesting complexity to the Chloe/Alistair sibling relationship if Alistair told Chloe that he was pretty sure Trent was gay.

I really think he was just impessed with Ian's talent/song/whatever.

I think Alistair's reaction was because Trent was with his sister, not because of a crush on Trent.

Though I do think the character is gay, they haven't given any indiction aside from gossip that he is. it could just be that he's not into girls (or boys) yet. Assume Chloe is older, the oldest he could be is 16, maybe he's a late bloomer.

What Trent was impressed with, as much as the song itself, was Ian's ability to put himself out there. To have a real interest of his own and not one that he took part in because it was expected or in order to impress people.

Alistair and Chloe are twins, but he could still be a late bloomer.

I think when Alistair was looking at Trent/Chloe during the make-up thing he was thinking of times when maybe his sister did that to him (which coulda made him more girly-ish). Girl-ish and mannerisms doesn't always prove he's gay.

I've been wondering about Trent though. At the least its a huge man crush.

I was just talking to a friend about that...we both think that his story may possibly go in that direction. I think it would be interesting...to show more complexity to the kids other than just struggling with weight. Either way, I'm really enjoying this show.

I missed last week's epi. but I did see the talent show epi. when Trent came to Ian and said "When are we gonna jam again?" and Ian seemed kinda flustered by it could have alluded to it. I feel like it could or couldn't go in that direction. would be interesting though.

After last night's episode I'm totally convinced that Trent is gay. Even before they had the whole Alastair & Piznarsky kiss thing, it really seems as if Trent has taking a liking to both Ian and Alastair. If that's true, then it will be a very interesting love triangle between Trent, Chloe & her brother Alastair.

It's pretty clear that Alastair has a crush on Trent, and I've thought Trent was gay since my friend came up with the theory in the second episode.
