How is it that this show was cancelled but a horrible show like "Secret Life of the American Teenager" is kept on ABC Family?

No clue - at least the actors on this show can act...from the few minutes I've seen of SLAT, well, the actors might be doing the best they can with the horrendous script, but it really is horrible.

It's simple as this. The ratings and viewer levels for SOLTAT is much higher than that of Huge. Basically, for the premiere of the show there were 2 million viewers, and for the finale, it dropped by 50 percent. Instead of spending tons of money filming the second season for a show in which in 10 episodes viewing went down 50%, they just cut their losses. Pretty much on average there are 3 million viewers watching SOLTAT for every episode. The finale of Huge only had a little over 1 million. You gotta get yourself in the heads of the people funding the filming of the shows. Would you rather throw money into a show that only gets 1 million viewers, or a show that gets 3 million viewers??

I just also had a thought. Who wants to watch a show about a 16 year old who is morbidly obese and happy about that fact. She'll be dead by the time she's 30 if she doesn't change her ways. Oh yeah, she's comfortable in her skin and in her body. But, it's not about being comfortable, it's about being healthy. Will wasn't healthy, if she was just a little podgy, it'd be one thing, but because she was obese, it's another thing. It's never a good thing to be obese.
sharewhat makes me sad is people think there needs to be only thin actors on a show to be a good show, it's disappointing to see good shows fail without being given a chance. To me it's not a show about a morbidly obese 16 yr old... it's about a teenager with weight struggles and a teenager who although society tells her that she's fat and ugly she sees the beauty in herself. I hate how these shows have created this image of if your not a size 2 your fat..and Fat equals ugly (it's one of those things i like about "glee" the main characters are all sections of the school)
I didn't know this show existed until it played on ABC spark i went and downloaded all the episodes and watched them and enjoyed the series.. yes it's not an amazing downton abbey epic show.. but it's a fun summer show what could have ran a few seasons in the summertime when things are usually dead or filled with excessive reality TV
Higher ratings (don't know how though, the actors/actresses on SLAT are god-awful. Like God. Awful.)
And probably because it's a bunch of good looking kids having sex and getting pregnant.

How is it that on ABC Spark channel, just today, I saw an advertisement for an 'all new' episide of this show. I thought it was cancelled awhile ago. Is this network redefining the term kinda like networks have with the term 'world premiere'?
