The Sharps Carbine...

The Sharps is not a repeating rifle. In the beginning of the movie, the little girl fires the Sharps at the rope. Then, without loading another cartridge (or clearing the expended cartridge still in the breach), re-cocks the hammer and fires again. Then the Mountie comes along, takes it from the girl, actions the lever and fires yet again.

The Sharps is a single shot. There was no reason pertaining to the story to make it a repeating rifle. The scene could have been virtually the same, but with a few seconds to show a single shot rifle being reloaded.

Its still a good movie, but a really glaring goof.
