Father was an idiot and really bad writing

I liked no ordinary family, don't get me wrong, but am I the only person wondering why the father almost never wore anything to cover his face when he went out crime fighting? Seriously, he was just ASKING to be on the news. The mother is little better, she wants to infiltrate the lab where she works to put an old blood sample in the building, she HAS the time to plan 'the little things' like wearing a damn mask.

I really liked the show, but what were the writers thinking?
