Heroes or NOF

Which do you think is a better show, Heroes or No Ordinary Family? I've seen every single episode of Heroes and only the first 3 episodes of No Ordinary Family. From what I've seen I like Heroes more because it's more mature, while this show seems too gimmicky.

Heroes without a doubt.

Yesterday was Thursday. Today it is Friday. Tomorrow is Saturday. And Sunday comes after...wards.

I liked them both, but I think in the end I like NOF better.

Heroes just got so tiresome after a while..

I agree. I liked them both, but the thing with Heroes is that it got really confusing and complicated the further it went on. NOF may have been "gimmicky" but it kept me entertained.

reply

"No Ordinary Family" for me. "Heroes" got too bogged down in its mythology to even be vaguely interesting in its later seasons (a fact that I hope "No Ordinary Family" doesn't repeat if it's given another chance).

Heroes BY A MILE, especially if we're talking first seasons. Heroes first season was fantastic, NOF first season has been....mildly entertaining with TERRIBLE writing and decent acting. Heroes may have gotten overly complicated and bad, but even its worst episode was better than NOF's best.

The first season of Heroes was one of the greatest seasons of any television show ever. However, it started heading downhill after that and was in a giant nose-dive by its final season. I feel like NOF will stay consistent with their quality. So based on the first season of NOF vs the first season of Heroes, Heroes wins without a doubt, but overall, we'll just have to wait and see

Agree with saramacg09. Heroes Season 1 fantastic and set the bar high. Season 2 was disappointing and frustrating because of character inconsistencies, plot holes, the "idiot ball" (characters behaving stupidly to progress the plot), and dropped plots.

Season 3 was worse, and Season 4 was so bad it was offensive. My friends stopped watching, but I continued because I still wanted to see how things would be resolved. I realized it had crossed that final point with me when I noticed that I would just fast-forward through scenes with certain characters, because I found them so tiresome. And still I had hope for improvement. The series' cancellation was almost a relief.

No Ordinary Family isn't perfect - it's somewhat predictable, cliche', and some episodes feature the idiot ball. But so far the characters appear consistent, mostly likable, and the show has some good bits and surprises.

So I'd rate them:

Best: Heroes Season 1

Pretty good: No Ordinary Family

From Good to Bad: Almost everything else on Television

Awful: Heroes Seasons 2 and 3

Terrible: Other shows about to be canceled

Offensively bad: Heroes Seasons 4

I agree pretty much with the previous poster.

Heroes season 1 is some of the best Television I've ever seen. While season two was, without a doubt, the worst single season of television I've ever seen in my life. I HATED that show after that.

So, all in all, my edge would go slightly to No Ordinary Family

i also concur, I wanted to watch heroes to the end but it got too hard, time travel makes it to easy to right crap. NOF is easier to watch and has a more weekly feel but can't imagine it could have sustained too many seasons . Both shows just copy a character from XMEN when needed. the first season of heroes was 3 times better the NOF, but second was three times worse. Winner? The watchmen

I don't know if you're still a member but, if you are, please like my comment on the No Ordinary Family page. https://www.facebook.com/NoOrdinaryFamily/posts/10151986188736642?notif_t=like

I am desperately trying to get the show the recognition it deserves.

Heroes. It got a bit stupid by the end but NOF is kind of lame to me. partly because the two kids can't act. but mostly because it's all been done before.

I like the first season of Heroes, The 2nd season, was boring, and just bad, and I saw the first few episodes of Season 3, and than I quit watching, because it got ridiculous,....So I have to go with No Ordinary Family.

Both shows may be about super heroes, but they are both VERY different.

I enjoyed Heroes more than No Ordinary Family. The characters, story, and events that take place in the show were just a bit more enjoyable.

reply

No Ordinary Family easily, and I've seen both shows to the end. Heroes, the creators just kept on recycling elements, the story was a mess to the point it made soap operas look believable and the characters they kept were one dimensional. The series just felt dull and repetitive the longer it lasted.

reply

Heroes was better by far, but i still enjoyed and watched every episode of No Ordinary Family. They are both superhero shows but really have nothing in common than that. One was a more family oriented show and the other was more mature like the OP said.

I enjoyed both but the fact that it was cancelled after 1 season probably speaks for how good of a show it really was.

I like both shows, but think No Ordinary Family is better. I like the family aspect and being able to trust someonepart of the show.

Heroes, even the good characters turned bad sometimes. And after Peter and others got too strong they all lost their powers and never got them back right, thought that was kind of stupid.

Under that logic the reality garbage genre is the best quality TV ever.

Fpr the life of me, I can't remember what was so amazing about the first season of Heroes. It's just been so long.

Heroes main draw was the hook it used to snag viewers by not revealing too much. Ever. Even when it gave you answers, it raised even more questions. This was the same kind of draw that Lost had with the stories that took place in the present. I don't have the patience for that kind of stprytelling any more, or at least only one or two at a time.

No Ordinary Family only had one real over arching question: What the goal of Stephanie's boss was. There was also the issue of exactly how they got their powers, but that slowly went to the side. I like when shows have a bit of stability and a bit of statis quo.

reply

Well Heroes went 4 seasons while No Ordinary Family went 1.The First 3 seasons of Heroes was good but after that, they steadily declined. I thought NOF was more like a TV version of The Incredibles then something like Heroes.
