they always cancelel the decent shows

If it's a decent clean family show you can count on it being canceled. The one show my grandkids and I watched together.

EXACTLY!!!! This was a good show...at times it could have gotten better, but it had a good fan base and with at least a SEASON 2 we could have seen where it was going to see whether to cancel it or not...GOSH

This was a great show for the whole family. I'd like to see TV Land pick it up. That's probably askin' too much.

Yeah i agree, theres very few family friendly shows out there. This one was great, i really like all the characters and i watched each week to see how much closer they were getting to the truth. It does suck that they cancel all the good shows.

I liked the show as well. They do cancel decent shows and keep garbage.

This of course wasn't actually the correct episode order but on Netflix and the DVD box my wife bought the episodes fall in this incorrect order

I cannot BELIEVE that this show got cancelled! It was left wide open. Great show. Family oriented. Just so unreal!

This show failed because they did a really poor job of mixing a light family comedy with dark ugly characters and situations. It just doesn't work. Not to mention the huge plot holes and general implausibility of the whole scenario. I'm fine with suspension of disbelief, but this show requires you to suspend your disbelief from a helicopter. Heroes, it aint.

Besides, as show where somebody gets murdered in a disturbing and/or horrible fashion (the poor Chinese scientist for example) at least once every other episode, I don't see how you can really consider this family viewing.

At least they gave the kids powers that wouldn't get them sued when some kid tried it at home in real life.

The best thing about it is the Katie storyline, which is really messed up, but brillant....and I've only seen 15 episodes so far.

reply

Exactly. If you're gonna be Adam West's Batman, then be West's Batman. If you're gonna be Christian Bale's Batman, then be Bale's Batman. Don't try to mix these together.

And in general, I now think that shows/movies are doing bad jobs trying to portray "With great power comes great responsibility." Jim admits he crimefights for his ego, the park vigilante points out that Jim's priority should be to his family, and Jim still tries to fight crime. Even when he's lost his powers, he'll risk his life for his pride. What's the message there?

No kidding. Decent shows getting axed after one or two seasons seems to happen far too frequently. There are those that don't of course, but still.

I just finished watching season two of Joan of Arcadia. That's another show that ended before its time. At least I think so.

This show was below average, sadly when you try to lure in everyone instead of mainly one target demographic you usually fail. This was a prime example.

The TPTB are too impatient than their predecessors were. Shows that we today call classics did not do so well in their first season. It sometimes took its second or third season to gain an audience.

I think it all depends on the network as well. When the WB was still the WB, they were so much more forgiving ratings-wise. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which ended up running for seven seasons and still remains such a big part of pop culture, probably would have sank after its first season on any of the major networks.

You are absolutely right though, it is an impatience game. There are so many shows out there now that networks have a million choices and it something isn't doing what they want it to they would rather pull it and stick something else there than let it find its fanbase.

My 12 year old son and I were just saying that too, so many shows we have watched and enjoyed together have been canceled after one maybe two seasons and it really makes me cranky. He doesnt like sex scenes or makeout scenes, they make him uncomfortable, yet those are the shows that get carried on, it is just pathetic. This was just becoming reallllly interesting! :o)
