Just another unrealisic Hollywood Hurt Locker

Title just about says it all. Just another total Hollywood BS gung ho crap. Heck I rather watch *beep* One than this. Watch real service men and woman in documentary films like Restrepo, gunners palace or just about any basic documentary with "real" Navy seals or anyone in the special operations or military community. And you will see 100% of these Hollywood films are unrealistic and this film is no different.

NO Seal,GSG9,SAS,Spetsnaz or any SF's team acts like this. This is one thing Hollywood NEVER gets their are NO Mavericks or Rambos in real life. Lone wolf gung ho people like that are weeded out. Half my family is current or former military in fact my younger brother is in Afghanistan as we speak he can't say what they exactly do but they all acknowledge the real military is no where near how their portrayed in films.

Sure these are good popcorn action type films for some, but their about realistic as a video game. Hence why I almost never watch mainstream films (saw this at a party), music or the media.

Nichole was here.

You do realize that this was made using real active duty Seal teams right? Name one particular scene where someone was acting like Rambo. Through out the movie I saw them either moving as a team or working in pairs. All do respect to the people in your family that have served but I highly doubt that active duty Special Force guys would want what they do portrayed in an unrealistic way.

reply

Ditto. Well said.

reply

Yeah this OP has zero clue. Obviously a serious wannabe who could never hack it on the teams trying to act as if here on a some chat board. Troll away little kitten for the most excitement you'll ever see is the ass-end of a string ball...

reply

Your family may be in the military, but are/were any of them active duty SEALs? And the stuff you speak of didn't happen in the movie. I, for one, didn't see any "lone wolf gung ho people". Also, you say "films". So basically you're generalizing this film with every other hollywood movie that's been made. Have you even seen it?

reply

nicky you said "Half my family is current or former military..."

how small is your family? have any of them actually seen combat? wow...

reply

This one and black hawk down were realistic to me. I'm sure they changed many things for security or dramatic, or time constraint. The hurt locker was convincing too. Tears of the sun, the part that got me, i've been told too from army rangers and marine and army infantry is when they all split up and nobody knows where anyone is was wrong.

reply

First off, There are numerous documentaries about previous SEAL missions. 2nd the locations could have easily beem changed. 3rd i myself know 3 navy seals and the movie portrayed them spot on. In the ending credits petty officer first class jon t tumilsons name came up. I knew him. This movie portrayed the SEALs very well. With all the hamd signals, callouts, and tactics it was better than any Hurt Locker bullcrap. As for the actors they could be SEALS who arent active duty, you nor i have any evidence for that.

Way to represent...awesome post...

"NO Seal,GSG9,SAS,Spetsnaz or any SF's team acts like this."

And you know this how?

There were a great deal of actual Members of Naval Special Warfare involved in this movie. All the SEALs in the movie were real SEALs. All of the Special Boat Operators in the movie, were real, as were the SOC-R boats.

You get to see an actual MEATS delivery of SOC-Rs by SOAR 160 MH-47s, what movie does that? That is beyond realistic.
You get to see a Live Fire Riverine Hot Extraction, where they actually destroy 2 vehicles with fires, what movie does that? Again beyond realistic.
Actual footage on a SSGN, with an actual SEAL Commodore (I know him) briefing actual SEAL Special Warfare Operators, who then do an actual lock out from a submarine, what movie does that? Need I say more?
Actual footage of MKVs and 11m RHIBs teaming with HH-60s to do a Maritime Interdiction Operation, what movie does that? I could go on. Although the 240 gunner on the MKV taking a single shot to whack the speedboat baddie is a bit of a reach.

Yeah there are several inaccurately portrayed scenes. The HALO jump is weak, but its a nearly impossible scenario to film, unless you want a rehash of Navy SEALs from 1990. The RPG scene is a bit loaded but forgivable.

And in the end the falling on the Grenade Scene, actually happened with Petty Officer Monsoor.

What doesn't get a lot of press is the support this production gave to the various foundations associated with NSW and SOCOM. The premier itself raised more money in one night for NSF than NSF has received in its entire history. SOCOMs branch of Wounded Warrior received a similar influx of donations. What Hollywood movies do that?

Bottomline to you and anyone else in agreement with you, stick to what you know and don't worry your little tush about things this Nicole. Buh Bye!

You're taking a dump and they call GQ do you pinch it off or finish your business?

reply

Very well said, bravo. I simply cannot understand the morons hating on the movie, it's beyond me. I've yet to see one with a valid point.

reply

Sorry, Nicole but you have been classed TSTL and are now targeted for termination. Although with your obvious skills I'm sure you'll be able to extract the bullet our sniper will pop your skull with, it's not like you actually have any grey matter for it to mess up.

I do have two questions.

1). Have you actually seen any of the military themed movies you have trolled?

2). What's it like being an orphaned, only child?

Half the people you know are below average.

Nichole,
With all due respect (i.e. none)
You don't have a fraking clue WTF you're talking about.

IF your family is in the service, you took their words out of context. To wit....
"but they all acknowledge the real military is no where near how their portrayed in films."

In films, plural.
In films.. as in generically, not this film specifically.
We can all admit that the vast majority of military films ARE unrealistic.
That is not proof that THIS film is unrealistic.
It is by far THE SINGLE MOST REALISTIC military film (non-documentary) there has ever been to date.

Get a clue before you mouth off again and make yourself look like even more of a retarded dumba$$ than you already are.
