Acting hard to watch...

Seriously. Hahaha. Just bad man.

reply

Yeah...the acting was pretty awful.

They are not actors. I feel getting real seals doing what they do best mattered more.

Horrible horrible acting, a monstrosity! Complete waste of time, also some things in the movie, such as terrorists actions were really unbelievable

reply

Just watched and I was impressed.

Don't expect Oscar winning acting but was more impressed with the teamwork and experience these guys bring to missions.

If you want to watch good acting go watch Mission Impossible or some other movie star with stunt doubles.

These guys are the genuine thing.
And well done to make this.

Bad acting but we are used to watching movies with professional actors and those professional actors live to express themselves, so the characters they portray in those movies are expressive characters. However, in real life not everybody has expressive personalities. In fact, some people choose not to show much emotion. In the director's commentary the director mentions that he had to really press one of the sailors to become emotional following the death of one of his friends, but the sailors in question would never have reacted that way in real life---they're almost robots in some respects. First accomplish task then deal with emotions later.

Being really emotional is amateurish and unprofessional. That's so Hollywood.

But these guys are Navy SEALs: the epitome of professional. They don't get there by being namby-pamby hearts-on-their-sleeves hotheads and crybabies. They get there by putting the mission above all else. This shows in their demeanor, and in their manner of speech.

And it also shows in the troops' psychic scars when they come back home. All that robotic stoicness, as good as it is for the op, really F's some of them up inside in the long run.

But no, let's fault them for not having the range of Kevin Spacey or the rack of Angelina Joley! They do these things for our entertainment, by golly!

Anyone complaining about the acting chops of ACTIVE DUTY NAVY SEALS really needs to have their head examined.

No wonder!!! Now I remember what the fuss was about this movie!! I'm FINALLY watching it!!

I thought there was something going on with the reason for these guys getting a pass for

their roles in this movie, Thanks all you Service men and women! You are so much

appreciated!!

I agree

It's a movie, therefore it is perfectly acceptable to complain about the acting of the actors in the movie. Regardless of whether or not they are professional actors, in this movie they are actors. It is not a documentary. The dialogue didn't help, it was far too cringy. Fortunately some decent action scenes made up for what would otherwise be a horrible viewing experience.
