Why does Tess Taylor live with them, they're not related.

Is the mom taking care of that girl or something cause I'm reading that the oldest one isn't a sister or daughter just hanging with them...having different last name should've been a giveaway but I was like...eh maybe she just changed it.

she's adopted.

Where did you get that info? From what I've found there's no official paperwork that states she is, and the name Tess Taylor is a fake one she's using for business purposes legally.

From what I gather, Tess' mom and that nutcase Andrea were really great friends, thus their children became close. I believe Tess and Alexis became best friends and when Tess' mom became "unable to care of Tess" Andrea took over responsibility. Basically Alexis' best friend Tess lives with her and her family, and her mom acts (sometimes) like her mom and pays for everything.

"well technically..i can never *sleep* with you."

To be more clear - the step dad pays for everything, as it doesn't seem the mom does much more than the girls do. I'm sure she thinks she's busy prostituting, I mean "managing" the girls' "careers."

Tess's real mom is named Tracie Adler. I read that back in 2002, she got into a car accident and went into a coma at which point Andrea stepped in and raised Tess.

Taylor, who was born to Franklin and Tracie Adler, was taken out of her biological mother's custody in 2002 and was placed in the custody of family friend Andrea Arlington. Arlington unofficially adopted Taylor. Taylor considers Arlington her mother and has no contact with her biological parents.

of course that's all changing now with the bio mother trying to get in contact. it works with the post that she was in an accident, but then why would Tess be so bitter? also she wasn't so young then, she was 10 or 11.

There's just a possibility that I will kiss a doorknob.

When the mother talked about it on the show I got the impression and just assumed the bio mother was strung out on drugs.

Even though these boards are dead, I feel the need to comment because this dreadful trainwreck of a show perpetuated so many lies. Tess Adler (as someone said earlier, Taylor is a stage name) was simply out of control and her mother couldn't handle her, sending her to live with her father when she was 16, who threw her out when she turned 18 because she continued to be out of control.

For a while Tess was living with her boyfriend, whom she broke up with and then went to live with the Arlington/Neiers family. She only went to live with them as an adult, by her own choice (her mother Tracie Adler offered her a place to live after things didn't work out with her dad and then boyfriend and she refused). Andrea Arlington never adopted Tess, either officially or unofficially, and it's disgusting the stories that were concocted for this show by Andrea and E! producers, etc. Tracie Adler and Andrea Arlington were at one time best friends and according to Tracie, she was the one who was often left taking care of Andrea's daughters Alexis and Gabby as well as Tess, as Andrea was often strung out on drugs, alcohol, etc. For Andrea to then twist everything is beyond comprehension. She has a daughter (Alexis) who took part in a string of robberies when she was only 17. How does that make her a good mother? And how could a show like this ever make it to the air? Why didn't the E! network do some actual research about these people and who they really were? The mind boggles.

And I'm not in any way affiliated with any of these people, I just feel bad for Tracie Adler. To have your own daughter and former best friend tell lies about you on a so called "reality" show must be a nightmare. It makes you wonder if any of these so called reality shows have any foundation in reality!

I am watching the biological mom episode right now and Tess said, "after 10 years she wants to get in touch with me?" (or something like that) so that would've made her about 8 when her mother left her.
