if you don't like the show, don't watch it.

"Why are people so hateful? Who cares?" Obviously you do, because of your post. Other people are entitled to their own opinions on the show and the family. When is it not okay for someone to watch an episode of any show and post negative thoughts about it?

This has got to be one of the most prevalent topics on IMDb. And the correct answer is always the same: These are discussion boards, not fan boards.

Also, critical discussion is crucial to artistic mediums (yes, I'm using the term VERY loosely with regard to this show) such as literature, film, cultural phenomenons, and the like. And people care, I imagine, because the people depicted in this show, and many like it, represent the obscene, vapid hollowness of celebrity-obsessed pop culture. Apathy is the loudest death knell to critical thinking about artistic expression - i.e., a prevailing attitude of "Who cares?"
