Both have their differences, but both are haunted house movies by the same director and star Patrick Wilson, so that does kind of invite comparison. I like both but I think I like The Conjuring a little more.

shareBoth films had a lot going for them, but the Demon in Insidious did it for me more then bathsheba. Once she'd had her leaping off the closet scene she lost all her presence. The demon lost some points for the CGI full body shots but that face coming through the door scene was a winner.

The Conjuring... It felt like a throwback. Tons of suspense, long/zooming shots, isolated feel. Insidious was great but Wann really perfected his craft. Add in that its SLIGHTLY based on some truths, its enough to creep me out. I thought it was the best Horror Film in quite some time
shareWholeheartedly agree with this. The Conjuring felt like an old school horror film and not just because it was supposed to take place in the past. One of the few great horror movies in the past 15 years or so.
