Great show but ooh, that dialogue...
Okay, we get it Shea is black Lloyd is white but we don't need to be reminded of it every other sentence...
I mean I understand the need to show the dynamic between those two, fair enough... But it shouldn't be at the expense of compromising the integrity of the dialogue.
I mean some of Shea's lines... "white girl is fast!!!" "cracker this, cracker that".
and Lloyd with his "Did you know research confirms black people do 'XYZ' "
This at least makes more sense because Lloyd's character is meant to be a caricature in the first place, so they have a lot of liberty and aren't burdened with the dialogue sounding "unrealistic".
However, Lloyd's character, sounds cheesey. They should take lessons from "The Wire" if they want to know how to create black dialogue without going "over the top".
When watching a show you want the impression that you are watching a person, not a "person reading lines".
