Overall it was a fun action thriller with a combined mixture of Taken mixed with Hitchcock suspense. The biggest problem with it is the fact that its too similar to Non-Stop for comfort. Liam Neeson's performance makes it worth watching ultimately.
You had a more favorable opinion of it than I did. I caught it in the theater and it was one of the dullest cinematic experiences I had in 2018.
Everything about the film just felt rote and generic except, perhaps, for Neeson's performance. As you say, it also felt almost like a remake of Non-Stop, except that Non-Stop was set on a plane and was altogether a much better movie.
Neeson's action thrillers have been hit-and-miss in my opinion, and The Commuter was one of the misses.
