Can anyone please help explain the ending for me? [Spoilers Alert]

I didn't get the last conversation Mike had with Joanna. How did he find her and say that she "played them both"? What was the relationship with her and Patrick Wilson's character? Did he return to work at the FBI?

Thank you !

reply

He did return to work but as a detective for the police department. I presume it's with the help of the resources given to him that he was able to find her, although that is a bit of a stretch. I believe that she went to the Patrick Wilson character to find someone desperate enough to look for the mysterious person on a train and the Wilson character picked Mike. To be honest I think the whole plot kinda falls apart under scrutiny and the ending felt a bit tacked on but overall I thought it was suspenseful enough to hold my interest.

I'm trying to go for an engaging, funny youtube channel so, if you have the time, take a look. Hope you enjoy what you see and if you have any thoughts or criticisms, i'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance. Review is right here- https://youtu.be/G_Kkt7UuA0I

Thank you for your explanation. I have a few more questions:

- If Joanna hired Patrick Wilson's character, why did Liam Neeson say that she "played them both"?
- I remember Liam Neeson also said that Joanna "planted" the witness Prin there. That did not make any sense. Was it correct?

reply

I think she hired Wilson's character but she also threw him under the bus.

I don't think she would plant Prin there. She didn't really even seem to know who Prin was so I doubt she could plant her there. I think she got wind that Prin planned to meet the detectives at that train station (forget the name of it) and that it why she got Neeson's character to look for her.

It's hard to make sense of it, you're right. There are some big holes that the movie never really explains

At one point, Murphy says, "I've got a family, too." I had assumed they had his family hostage to get him to do dirty work, too? Hell, if I know.

All I know is that her "cool" ass was going to jail.

He never worked at the FBI, attention-challenged OP. He worked at the NYPD. He went back to work at the NYPD. It’s not rocket science. It’s called paying fucking attention.

The good news is that Stupid You has been gone for 2 years.

I'm glad she got caught, but this was one of those movies where her villainy had me rooting for her to get KILLED.
Like really evil bad guys in other movies.

Though I suppose in custody, she'd be under pressure to rat out a whole lot of co-conspirators -- and under fear of getting killed BY them, before trial.
