Brilliantly constructed / References.

To start with, let me say what a brilliant movie it is, out of nowhere and saving a rather frustrating day!
As the movie "unrolled", it reminded of what Kundera used to do (I think in "The Joke") or Coupland in "Hey Nostradamus" -or even Easton Ellis in "The Rules Of Engagement"; check them out: you have the same story or episode, then re-narrated by various characters from their different points of view. Obviously, the classic Japanese cinema reference here would be "Rashomon"!
There was another Scandinavian movie, about 10 years ago, whose title escapes me but was smtg like "Scenes From A Cold Country": if you liked "Confessions", you should like it too. It also started with a crime story (a heist gone wrong) ...and then explained what happened to its characters afterwards as they came to terms with the original plot.

I take it you also watched it on film4 loigsan
Unfortunately my recording cut off 10 15 mibns before the end - just after he empties that bottle on the floor, what did I miss?

Hi there!
er.... what bottle?
Basically, and in general terms (don't want to spoil too much!), the teacher finds out what the kid is up to and takes his explosive device "elsewhere" -with disastrous consequences for him.
The morale is that he may be intelligent, sure, but he also has seriously underrated her, blinded by his delusions of grandeur. The rest of his life will be living hell, haunted by what he has -directly and indirectly- done. The last line is a killer: she throws back his own words into his face.
...if that's satisfying enough for you (if you want, I can spell it out but that wouldn't much fun).
Best, L. (yep, saw it on FilumFour)

Thanks for the PM, sorry if I was not clear enough lol

Hey mate! I was trying to look for the movie that you mentioned in your post about it being similar to 'Confessions'. Do you remember the actual title of the film?

Cheers anyway.

It's called "Frozen Land".
