bad movie

You'll see all over again "the death of Mr. Lazarescu", "4,3,2" and all the others of this kind.

Toate au in comun stilul 'realism romanesc'.

The only thing shared by the three movies mentioned is that they're about real life in Romania nowadays ("If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle" and "The Death of Mr. Lazarescu") or recent past ("4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days"). So the three movies are alike about the same way as "Fahrenheit 9/11", "Extraordinary Measures" and "The Doors" are the same.

And no, in my opinion, "Whistle" is not a bad movie. Quite the contrary. The actors play pretty well and the plot is not too bad, either.

Well I couldn't be bothered to get the old babel fish out and translate the other comments but on amoga comments I guess I tend to agree with some comments and disagree with others.

All 3 mentioned films are completely different films but they do share the same type of filming technique.

I think it worked extremely well with "4 months 3 weeks" as it gave a certain type of urgency to the viewer and "the death of" didn't have (for me) the same type of urgency factor I was still very much intrigued as to what the outcome may be.

****** Spoilers will follow ***********

"If I whistle" did have the same sort of effect for me as "The death of" but as soon as he hit the guy interviewing him it just seemed unrealistic. I know things work differently in the judicial system in different countries but the demands they gave into were unbelievable no matter what country you come from. Especially as soon as a car and coffee was involved. He went over the edge because a guy read his quiz but not because someone moments before a guy tried to force extra cigs out of him. If he was a pussy then this would have been fine but he obviously wasn't and only didn't retaliate over the cigs because his freedom was at stake so if you're gonna flip why not take the dude giving you stress with you instead of kicking him out and kidnapping a girl you adore???????

Can you maybe suggest some site that translates your language to English or some other language people can understand?

I disagree.
People don't react like machines. It was because of the pressure everyone around him (the inmates mafia as well )was putting on him that he broke

He did not hit the guy because of the essay, he planned all that carefully.

Well anyway, i hear many romanian people complain that all movies made in the last few years are the same kind of dark and depressing dramas. Well that's because it's the only kind of movies that can be done with a limited budget. Any low budget fantasy, Sci-Fi or action movie won't have a chance to compete with big Holywood names, see Fire & Ice: The Dragon Chronicles for example.

It was brilliant! Like a Romanian Tarantino movie (long excellent scenes).
