Ending *spoilers*
I'm a bit confused. Antoinette ends up possessed, John was killed by the gas mask shadow, what happened to the girl with John and did Antonette kill Sean & Alex? Was it Alex's spirit walking out the door in the trench coat?
shareI actually think they got out at the end. The part with him leaving behind his shadow is explained earlier when Alex believed that the patients that were tortured left behind a part of themselves which were the shadow men. Their pain and darkness fostered demons. So the ending was Sean leaving his own shadow behind bc of their ordeal, thus feeding more demons and shadow men, so the place is a self-sustaining darkness that continues to grow. That's my take of the ending.
