What did you imagine R's name to be?

Kind of a silly thread :P But I was just wondering what you guys imagined R's real name was while watching the movie. (I've never read the book, but I'm gonna assume you never learn his real name in that one either?)

Anyway, I imagined that his name was Riley haha. No reason in particular, it's just what popped into my head when I looked at him :P What about you guys?

reply

Well, Romeo, obviously. =) No, for some reason I thought Richard. No idea why.

"I say, you move, and you're dead!" "And I say, I'm dead and I move..."

reply

I was thinking of Romeo while watching the movie haahaaa. My guess would be Ryan.

I was thinking Ryan as well.

I thought Ryan too.

David Caruso "Worst actor ever!"

reply

I also thought Ryan. Mostly because I was surprised she didn't suggest it.

I love your quote, angelynx-2. The Crow is one of my all-time favorite films. Not to derail but I had to comment.

reply

I have not watched the movie, but I noticed it was a pretty interesting and funny quote ;D

reply

Just like Romeo and Juliet. ;)

reply

Oh gosh! Of course it's Romeo and Julie(t). Can't believe I missed that. We can speculate all we want but this here is the true answer.

Or be the one looking down.

Agreed!

He looks like a Ryan or Riley to me.

I know I'm a vampire, Snookie.

reply

reply

Honestly the first name that popped into my head was Rick. Then Ryan. Then I just stopped there. lol

Romeo, or some play on it, like Marcus is a play on Mercutio and Perry is a play on Paris.

I actually didn't find myself wondering about his past life much. I looked forward to watching him change into what he would become. I like how they handled that in the movie, too. He doesn't want to remember his old name because he likes "this life" and the name Julie gave him.

Ryan, Ricky, or Ronny.

Logan, buddy. It's me, Deadpool! I shot youuuuuu....

reply

Perry is a play on Paris. Ay!

Anyway, I thought R was fitting because of all the grunting. LOL I didn't think he fit any names, really. *shrugs* LOL

reply

Thanks, Eliza. I thought I was missing something, there. Paris. Of course.

And I'm with you, like I said - I didn't really think of him in terms of what his name (or past life) was, though it's kinda fun to think his name was Romeo.

Polonius was in Hamlet.

Oh and I thought he looked like a Rickey. I didn't realize the Romeo connection except for the balcony part but now that people have said his name is Romeo it does make sense.

Also, Julie's best friend wanted to be a Nurse...

Foreman: I think your argument is suspicious.
House: I think your tie is ugly

reply

Foreman says "I think your argument is specious."

spe·cious spēSHəs (adjective) - superficially plausible, but actually wrong. An older definition was something that was misleadingly attractive. House makes a twofer with his reply, both an insult and a play on Foreman's words.

Service equals citizenship. Would you like to know more?

Indeed. Not to mention Julie is a stand in for Juliette.

Funny! I thought of Arrrrthur

Ryan but that is kind of an old fashioned name even now much less in the future. So it's probably something like Rock,Ryker or Rylan. I like the name Roman myself.
