Few films about Korean War - an intense portrait of child warriers

There are few films about the Korean War so this film makes a good contribution, highlighting the accepted cultural norms in Korea at the time.

A lot of the action is shot close-up giving a real sense of the intensity of battle.

And although a lot of unrealistic 'silliness' is shown - that is quite likely to be accurate given that the 71 were only children. The contrast of their age, the childishness and the horror of the battle was quite intense.
