They fixed it!

I love the new changes! There was no chemistry with Megan and Peter. The new guy is awesome! They crackle together. I watched this show because I love Dana Delaney, but I never liked Peter or the lady cop.

I usually get mad when they change up shows but these changes are TERRIFIC. Keep up the good work!

I will admit that tonight the changes were actually pretty good since it was rather surprised that Adam's backstory was revealed a bit since the district attorney representing Daniel was actually his father. It was also rather nice to see that Tommy's backstory as a Cop was revealed as well.

reply

Yeah, tonight's episode was pretty good. Meagan is getting more likeable.

reply

Ummm, no. Mark Valley is terrible, and his character is a walking cliché. He and Megan have no spark.

Megan and Peter had chemistry. It wasn't romantic chemistry--instead it was a nice working relationship/friendship built on trust. So now that's gone and we're left with a cardboard tough guy cop who has a past with Megan and still carries a torch for her.

And then add on the fact that Megan's character has become even more unlikeable. The producers didn't fix anything; they made things worse. A once-decent show has now put itself on the chopping block.

reply

I have to agree.

I've actually liked Mark Valley in other roles, but here he's just the same old cop that's been done for decades. Bud and Sam were much better foils for Megan.

I also hate that they haven't even mentioned getting another investigator after that naive woman from the premiere.

And yes, Megan has become over-the-top in her behavior. The bravado with the mob boss was ridiculous.

Also seems that they have completely dropped her paresthesia.

Oh was it? I guess u haven't had much dealings with little women, my dear late wife was a little lady and while most of the time she would give in on certain issues, if u pissed her off she would come after you.
Examples: we had a very noisy person next door & I wanted to go after him big time SHE started 4 his door & it took both me & my dad to hold her back.
Once when a super (who was like 6 2, I'm 5 11) tried to go after me when I yelled at him she came between us. Make no mistake she was a wonderful wife 4 the most part & I miss her dearly.

Hey, boolittlek! You do realize, don't you, that all your nasty comments are merely YOUR OPINION, right? Absolutely nothing you wrote is carved in stone, or even halfway true.

Reminds me of a recent episode of "Elementary" on CBS. Holmes responds to Watson's comment by saying:

"Opinions are like ani, Watson. Everybody has one!"

Where exactly did I imply that what I stated was anything but opinion? I simply expressed a viewpoint which disagreed with the original post. You, on the other hand, did not address the topic at all and merely resorted to personal invective. I daresay your entire reply could be characterized as a "nasty comment." If you disagree with anything I say, that's fine, but at least have the decency to do so in a civil manner.

"Absolutely nothing you wrote is carved in stone, or even halfway true."

If you're claiming that nothing I wrote was true, then you're suggesting that there is an objective truth regarding the artistic merit of Body of Proof. If so, then by all means please provide it. If not, then you must concede that your entire assertion is also just an opinion--no more or less valid than the one I expressed.

One last note--no final decision on the show's fate has been released, but multiple outlets have painted its chances as bleak:

Apparently I'm not the only one who feels the show has not been fixed.

I agree with boolittlek, masterimmortal, & frozensouth. It's a darker show this season. It's really gone downhill. You used to see people smile here and there, but not anymore. I miss seeing Curtis & Ethan smiling now and then. They NEVER smile anymore. Megan and Kate had begun to get along a little bit. That's gone out the window, too.

No. They broke it. Actually, they started screwing it up when they took away John Lynch & Sonja Sohn!

I think the character changes are fine, but the stories are just completely effing awful now. Why does every story have to tie in to a main character? Use a little effort, jeez.

I agree.

I liked the Peter character but he wasn't used very well. I found Bud and Sam uninteresting.

I don't care for Megan's mom and their "difficult relationship". But if they use the mystery of Megan's father's death as a major backstory then she'll probably be tolerable since the focus will hopefully move from how they don't get along to what happened 35 years ago. The daughter also bugged me but so far they seemed to have toned down her bratty, annoying "I'm a teen and I hate my mother" cliché they used originally.

The series started with Megan in a bad place but through the first two season it never let up. She had a bad relationship with her mom, she's divorced and has to deal with her ex, her daughter doesn't live with her and that relationship is strained. She doesn't like any of the people she has to work with. Ugh. Depressing. I originally watched for Dana Delaney but stuck around hoping the Peter character would be more developed. He had the potential to be more interesting. But he's gone. However, if he'd survived and they hadn't made any changes I would have been gone.

I like the changes.

I think it would have been interesting if Peter did survive his attack and ended up in a relationship with Megan but I guess it was more realistic to kill him off since it gave Megan some much needed development. It will be interesting to see who was the one that actually killed her father.

Mark Valley is an okay replacement as the homicide cop who works closely with the M.E.'s office, and it's interesting that his character is supposedly an ex-suitor of Megan, the Dana Delany character.

I liked Nicholas Bishop well enough, as the detective who Valley's character replaces. But unfortunately, Bishop is too short to play the male lead. Valley is listed in the IMDb as 5 ft. 10 in., which seems about right. You and I will search, search, and search -- in vain -- for an accurate mention of Bishop's true height. He looks like he is 3 feet tall.

Good actor, though. But not as a foil for Megan Hunt, who is 5 feet 7 in. tall.

I am happy they did fix it. If I were "tommy sullivan" I would prefer "Riley Dunn" over " Megan hunt" 10 times out of 10!!!!!!

reply

I believe Riley Dunn (Marisa Ramirez) just got a permanent role on CBS's Blue Bloods.

reply

Does anyone have any CLEAR, PRECISE, and ACCURATE information on Marisa Ramirez' status on Blue Bloods? If you watch that show, you know that Ms. Ramirez was seen as the latest of Detective Danny Reagan's (Donnie Wahlberg) new partners.

But is any of this permanent?

After the show ditched Jennifer Esposito as Danny's partner when she came down with Celiac disease, they hired two actresses named Megan -- first, Megan Ketch, then Megan Boone -- but neither woman got the job permanently. The latest I've heard is that Marisa Ramirez has signed on as Danny R.'s new partner. But now, she shows up on Body of Proof in a possibly recurring role.

What, exactly, can you tell us about Marisa's true status?

I didn't like Peter either. I like that they killed off his young girlfriend too. They didn't go far enough with the killings/changes. They did blow it by not killing off the daughter. What a whining snot teenager. Not every girl teenager is as self absorbed and petulant brat. Or at least they could have killed off her mother.

They have to use Curtis and Ethan more.

reply

I agree... The new changes work! I was a little skeptical at first, but I'm enjoying the season so far =o)
