'Lacey' actress

This is a moot point now that the show has been cancelled...guess I have too much time on my hands to be posting this. While I don't wish to be negative about the acting ability of the young lady who played Lacey, I somehow could never find her believable as the daughter of Megan (and ex-husband). Seems like more recently, casting people have made an effort to cast actors/actresses who bear some resemblance to their relatives in a movie, tv series, etc. For example, Megan and her mother on the show...there is at least some similarity in their coloring, body type, style (can't think of a better word here). But Megan and Lacey...if I'd seen them (Lacey and the dad, too) together in real life, I think I'd wonder if Lacey were adopted. Anybody else notice this or am I a nit-picker? Or hey...maybe somebody expressed this same opinion months ago?
