actors and game characters

I was watching this the other day, and noticed that the actors looked exactly like they did in the game, eg. Lorenzo De Medici & Rodrigo Borgia. I don't know if the game characters were based on these people when they were created, and if they were, why is Ezio the only one who looks totally different? You'd think they'd get the main character to look the same...

Because this is set several years before the start of the second game. Ezio was 17 at the beginning of the game.

In this he would be nor more than maybe 10 or 12.

If you watch the "Making Of" video for Lineage, you'll find that all of the actors also serve as the models for their in-game counterparts, the actors for Ezio and Claudia included. The difference is that most of these characters die early on, or at least have mature faces already, so there was no reason to "age" them as time passed in the game. Ezio is the only one who ages substantially in-game. They simulated the aging process on the actor--so it's possible that as time passes, he may indeed look much like the older Ezio. I would have liked it if Claudia had aged some as she sat behind that desk, though.

They sure as hell didn't simulate the aging process on Ezio. The actor who Ezio/Desmond/Altair is modeled after is Francisco Randez; the one in this movie is Devon Bostick.

The Lineage actors also serve as both facial models *and* the voices for their respective characters in-game, which is why Lineage is so cool.

Ezio looks different in Lineage because he's so young. In-Game, he's all growed up.
