The television show 'Treme'

I'm just curious about how people feel about this show? Do you think it is doing anything to actually help the city? If someone finds Spike Lee's documentary coverage exploitative, then do you also find it insensitive for HBO to be down there dramatizing real life events that are barely 5 year old happenings of which thousands of people are still traumatized by?

Treme is a good show.

how do we help or educate ourselves about the tragedies of Katrina without re-examination? if not for Lee's documentaries, who else would do it? i personally think he is trying to give a voice to the voiceless. Treme also seems to be giving people a voice when no one else will listen or care.

i will never forget seeing fellow citizens, too poor to evacuate (seriously, if you didn't have a car, where would you go? if you didn't have much money, where would you stay?)withering in the hellish sun on their rooftops begging for help FOR DAYS.

never in my wildest dreams did i think things would stop and linger while our own citizens were crying out for help. ugly.
