So why did Emmy Rossum leave the show?

Back when she first left i thought it was said she wanted to go and do movies and expand her career beyond this show, but since she left i've not seen her in anything at all, nothing. I think she was better off staying on the show cause apparently she can't get cast in anything else.

If i'm wrong and it was a money issue as to why she left, well again she was better off staying on the show cause it doesn't look like shes making any money right now cause she not in anything.

It wasn't money, she was in a dispute over not being paid as much as Macy but they settled that. She was one of those narcissistic fucks that thought she was really a star and would be the next Meryl Streep and that Shameless was holding her back... Well it turns out she wasn't that bankable and now she probably regrets leaving. You see that with a lot of TV star they think the grass is greener in the movies and then they realize they didn't have what it took. Frankly if they had a brain they would realize that you are better off doing a long running TV show than chasing movies. Residual checks are much more plentiful for a long running TV show that gets into syndication than they are for movies.

Exactly, a long running tv show is guaranteed money, leaving that to go attempt to do big movies is a big gamble and one you lose most of the time. Theres a reason why Macy's stuck with the show since the beginning, he's smart, he's making tons of money and not having to worry about landing roles in movies.

Macy needs to keep to keep making that paper in order to support his family since the wife was in jail and not working much these days... LOL

Some actors get sick of playing the same role for a decade. It's not creative fulfilling. Why do you hold that against them? Not every artist is a mercenary.

Lol she did 1 movie where it looks like shes not even the star and is way far down the cast list, and has some tv mini series in the works which is right back to tv where she wanted to leave to do big movies.... wow big list. You know how many projects most actors do and have lined up in a single year even during covid? Shes not the big Hollywood star she thought she was gonna be.

Loved her in Day after Tomorrow, was sad to see her leave the show, especially that close to the Final Season.
