Season 3 finale was perfect... Anyone else?

Little late to the party, but now marathoning the seasons. Have to admit... Season 3 ended on such a pleasant, positive note that I woulda been content if the series ended there... Every member of the Gallagher clan seemed to find peace and contentment at the end. Granted, Frank was wandering somewhat aimlessly, but one could assume he was headed home.

I have to admit, I was a little disappointed to learn in Season 4, episode 1 that Frank never came home and succumbed to heroine... Anyone else feel this way? What were your thoughts on the S3 finale, and would you have been content if the series found its closure there?
