Ian's Ambulance Screwup

Not keeping the distraught delusional woman shackled. It should have gotten him fired. In the real world it would have. I was shocked she didn't die.

There are some things you maybe shouldn't do for a living if you have a mental illness that can cloud your judgment.

I'm annoyed that for some of the characters (Ian and Lip), the consequences do not seem to apply to them. It's like the writers want to do wacky, zany things, but don't want to change up the formula of the show too much. They wanted Ian to have a wild, messed up moment with his job, but didn't want to go so far as to having to write what happens to him if he loses his job for the screw up...

The difference is that his mental illness does prevent him from being a EMT, the writers simply allowed him to be one because he whined and complained that his mental issue would not be that big of a deal.

And it really wasn't.

He actually handled that woman very well, right up to when he untied her.

But we're dealing with Ian, the bi-polar, know it all Homo.

Any where else he would have been fired, and her family would have charged him with negligence at the very least

You don't have to stand tall, but you do have to stand up!

Exactly. Shameless needs to stop with the fantasies.
