There are some things you maybe shouldn't do for a living if you have a mental illness that can cloud your judgment.
I'm annoyed that for some of the characters (Ian and Lip), the consequences do not seem to apply to them. It's like the writers want to do wacky, zany things, but don't want to change up the formula of the show too much. They wanted Ian to have a wild, messed up moment with his job, but didn't want to go so far as to having to write what happens to him if he loses his job for the screw up...
shareThe difference is that his mental illness does prevent him from being a EMT, the writers simply allowed him to be one because he whined and complained that his mental issue would not be that big of a deal.
