Am I the only one...

That really wants Ben and Kate together. I really like their love hate relationship, but up until now it only been about the hate I'm excited to see more between them. I've seen a lot of hate towards Ben on the message board, but I think he's great slightly annoying, but I like him on the show. Does anyone feel the same?

reply

I love him and I love Ben/Kate. Their relationship is very fun and entertaining to watch. It was definitely what the show was missing.

reply

I didn't like Ben very much in the beginning, but he is starting to grow on me. The more he has his "yes, I really am a human being somewhere under all this cocky arrogance and flashy possessions" moments, the more he grows on me.

I can see him being around Kate and seeing her in action having a positive influence on him. We saw a little bit of where he was earlier in life, but I am really curious to see more of it. I get the vibe from him, especially the last couple episodes, that he sees a quality in Kate that he is almost jealous of. Winning and money have been so important to him for so long that it's like he has forgotten there are other things that matter in life, and Kate is a daily reminder of that to him.

Ultimately I can see a potential future there, but I think they both have "growing up" to do before it could ever be successful.

And I agree, it IS fun and entertaining to watch. Looking very much forward to wallowing in the extreme awkwardness I am sure is to come in the next episode. I'm wondering how many minutes it will take Leo to figure out what happened, maybe 5 at the most, lol. And he is definitely NOT going to let it slide.

reply

Yeah I agree. I think that because he had to fight so hard to be where he is he ended up locking his feelings away and not letting them get in the way of success. Thats why he was so hurt when Kate said he doesn't care. He does, he just had to choose not to so he could be someone. I like it that Kate bring out those feelings in him and Ben can teach her to get a hold of her emotional side sometimes. And their bickering is just sooo delicious!

Hah! May be a bit awkward but it will be fun. Tonightsevenpmpicktheplace I hope it doesnt turn out to be ruined.

I really like Ben as a character. Without him, there is no show, ha. I like the love hate relationship too, but not sure how much I want them together. I mean, Sarah is so smoking hot she should only be with me!!! I can't believe she already has had a kid in real life.

I really like Ben and I love them together. Kate & Justin are boring. I see all the hate towards Ben, but I don't think people are giving it a fair chance. At this point you're SUPPOSED to dislike him. They WANT him to seem "empty" & shallow. The fact of the matter is that his character knows how to & is willing to get money into the failing firm so his character is serving more than one purpose. As far as the love interest purpose, he already explained about his past relationship and I think that was supposed to give us insight as to why he is so cold/unfeeling (at least what he projects). It's his was of protecting himself. I think people need to give his character time to develop. In the last episode trying to help Kate, he does something nice & snaps back to jerk mode. It's very push pull because I think it's two sides of him struggling. His natural good side and the protective shell he uses to keep people at a distance. I think he's entertaining to watch and I can't wait to watch him struggle with the two sides, because I'm sure he will. Yay for Ben and yay for Kate and Ben. Enough with Justin.

Nope, you're not the only one. I do like the chemistry between Ben and Kate. They do bring out the best of each other though they fight and argue most of the time. I like Season 2 better than Season 1.

reply

I generally like Ben. But if they want to turn a love/hate relationship into a romance, I vote for Lauren. They already live together and well...I mean...I just think it would be better for...Yeah, all right, I admit it, I just want some more girl-on-girl action.

reply

Genius. My vote goes for a Kate, Lauren relationship as well.

reply

Hell, they could even play it for laughs. Kate is going to move out of Lauren's house at some point. Why not have a couple of romantic/awkward scenes to trigger the decision?

Lauren gets drunk because of something and almost kisses Kate,
Kate goes into the bathroom while Lauren takes a shower...

Build up some sexual tension over 2 or 3 episodes to provide a background for Kate's decision to move out.

Her step-mother? ewwwwwwwwww

How do we know for an absolute fact that hard work never killed anyone?

I love Sarah Shahi and I still like this show but the addition of Ben and this silly office romance (which often kills off a series)is actually ruining this show for me.... I loved Season 1 but I was hoping they'd stop with the weekly On-again, Off-again romance between Kate and Justin but I didn't expect them to put Kate into an office romance, much less, do it in Season 2.... In my opinion, this show has a lot of potential and Sarah Shahi is much too good of an actress to throw half of each show away on a distracting and highly unlikely office romance between Kate and Ben...

I was bored with Kate/Justin because I find Justin so dull.

Season 1 was okay but I only watched the occasional episode. That changed with the appearance of Ben in season 2.

I absolutely love Ben and I really enjoy his and Kate's constant bickering. They have wonderful chemistry together.

Without Ben there would be no show for me! Time for Kate to get over boring Justin and listen to her instinct. Ben's the guy for her no matter how long it will take her to figure that out.

De gustibus non est disputandum.

I hate all of this silly love triangle nonsense. It has essentially ruined the show for me. That and her incredibly bipolar relationship with Justin. She randomly forgets and remembers the fact the he cheated on her. What happened to the mystery of what Kate's dad was really up to?

The writing wasn't exactly earth shattering in the first season, but it was still far better than the nonsense they've been throwing at us this season.

I would take Justin over Ben any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Justin is a real white knight, and I can forgive him for one lapse. It would never happen again--that's the kind of man he is. I'm liking Ben better, but I don't want him with Kate. I think he & Lauren would be very good together. They already get along so well. Kate needs Justin to ground her; Lauren needs Ben to loosen her up a little.

I don't like Ben worth a damn, although he has shown a glimmer of decency in recent episodes. On the whole, he is much more than "slightly annoying"; he's heavily annoying. His main function is to keep Kate from going back to her ex-husband.
