One thing that has always annoyed me slightly is that we as the audience know that Kate has a passion and the smarts for her job. Yet, why does she have to use 'sex' and charm to get the stuff she wants/needs for her cases? It almost dumbs down the character for no reason.... any thoughts?

I love Ben, and not because he's "hawt" (for the record, while I haven't read every post on here, I haven't seen anyone say that). Ben is, at first glance, a prototypical lawyer, out to win cases and bring in the big bucks. He's a little bit sleazy, and most of the time he's doing something because there's something in it for him. But there's a deeper layer to him, a side that has some good to it that we're starting to see, and it's charming. Also, he's flat out hilarious. Maybe I'm biased - I work for lawyers and am starting law school this fall - but I am so glad his character is on the show.

You can bet they feel they made a mistake with Ben, but must know go with it.
They have really nothing for Trucco's character to do so they give him an affair gets her angry with him and stick her with Ben as a comic duet and it's corny as heck. They have Lauren who along with Justin have little story and the show is tanking because of boredom. Maybe a Lauren and Justin hook up that I would watch.
