Why Jennifer Lopez adopted a black child?

I mean, there are lots of "hispanic" children that can be adopted and looks like her mother.
I think its a cruelty to take a child that has no resemblance to their adoptive parents whatosever, he will hate them for taking him from his native country and culture.

My what an ignorant post! He will be thankful that someone took him on to love him and provide him with a decent life. When you struggle to conceive a child and the only way forward is adoption, hope you aren't as fussy with your choice if child!

What you're basically saying is they can't get away with lying to him.

OP are you *beep* retarded? That's a serious question.

they said they were on the waiting list for Guatemala (wanting a Hispanic baby as they are both Hispanic perhaps?) but that Guatemala closed down their adoptions so they researched other countries and Ethiopia seemed the best.

I have a friend that has two children she adopted from Asia. One is a girl from China the other is a Vietnamese boy with a malformed arm. If these kids had not been adopted, they would probably have lived in an orphanage.

Why would they hate their parents for loving them?
And who cares if the child looks like the parents? what if JLo had a baby with a black guy and then he died or they broke up and then she married her husband in the movie? her kid would still "look" black and nothing like its parents!

your comment is really ignorant and doesn't seem to understand the lives that can be led by these kids if they DON'T get adopted by anyone. Ever heard of the state of some of these orphanages where they don't have enough caretakers and the kids just sit in their cribs and cry and rock themselves because no body has time to hold them? (Not that I am saying all orphanages are like this by any means)

Calm down. It's just a movie, a comedy, remember. Don't take the little details too seriously, it wasn't written for that purpose. LOL

Last I looked- love doesn't care about skin color or even blood for that matter. My sister's friend whom we took in is hispanic and her parents have abused her and we took her in and I see her as family regardless of her skin color.

Your post is very ignorant and you really need to get a life if this detail in the movie irritated you that much!

reply

Omg, that was extremely ignorant! I hope he's not for real and just a troll. Trolls are worthless. I know this is just a movie and there's no need to take ignorant comments like on a fictional story so seriously but let me add my two cents on love and family. Those children need parents. They need to be loved. Love doesn't care about the color of your skin. Love cares for you, gives you support, and love from a parent gives you a place to call home. There are thousands of children in need and thousands of parents in third world countries who would give for the opportunity to allow their children to have a better life. I hope that person who commented negatively finds love in their heart. Go overseas and do some mission work. Immerse yourself in a third world culture and experience what it's really like for those communities. Give yourself that opportunity. It's life-changing and will open your eyes and you'll think twice for saying a comment like that.

You are either 10 years old, or the most ignorant person I've come across in a long time. I'm adopted. I met my biological mother 6 years ago. My bio mom and her 5 siblings are adopted. I plan on adopting a child with my fiancé once we're married. We're going to adopt from whatever country needs parents... adoption is an amazing thing. It has nothing to do with race.
A lot of people don't even look like their biological family. My parents are my parents, and I am their daughter. It's about love-- not race. And whether you meant to or not, you sound like an uneducated bigot.

So what about a black biracial child with his or her biological white mother? Do you think that's wrong too?

reply

Yeah if I was an Ethiopian orphan I'd really rather spend my life impoverished in a third-world country than in a first-world country with opportunities upon opportunities and nourishing food, medical care, and people who love me.

You can still retain your culture even if you live elsewhere.

Because she wanted to? why does it matter?
